It will not satisfy all camera operators, but it may fit to the satisfaction of some. The main issue is the attachment method, something a reviewer has commented on.

A: Teradek says that this setup will work if you're using it with Canon EF Lenses via RED cameras. The CTRL.1 can be set to control the focus axis while the thumbwheel can be configured to have the Iris axis control.

A: This device connects directly to the RED DSMC2 Camera's Right Side. It should still work with a top and bottom plate on the camera, it would just depend on the exact model of plates and how they sit on the camera.
