It's a set it and forget it piece of equipment.
I set it to max fan power is half speed.
I turned off the bright front light.
Turns itself on when it's hot, then turns itself off when it's cool enough.
Perfect.

At the default setting I could hear it cycling often. Once I set it to the economy (?) mode where the fan switches speed it seemed to cycle less often. I may give it a try at just constant on at the lowest speed and see if it will keep up without having to kick into high speed.

My brand new Yamaha shut itself down during the ending fighter scene on Top Gun without this. I may watch it again with this device and see if it passes that test.

This a great device, and works well as expected. I've had it set on 'smart mode' which means it will increase fan speed in sync with temp sensor and need for cooling. Never been above slowest speed yet which is as silent as can be expected, which is hardly noticeable when audio levels are low. It's a shame these are not readily available in the UK, nevertheless I ordered late Sunday and it was delivered by Friday am. Awesome service!
