Quickly became one of our favorite lights. Very bright, dimmable, adjustable color temp. Has a nice hard pop for back lighting or spot lighting. Yes its a bit costly but you pay for quality. Not sure how you can not rate this 5 stars. Its that nice. You will not be disappointed with this light.

Hands down the best light and so easy!

We needed a compact location kit that we can check on airplanes. It needed to be versatile and we wanted to transition to LED lights to cut down on the heat, as we are often shooting interviews in offices and other small rooms. We wanted fresnels to be able to retain depth in our lighting, even in cramped quarters. And we also have to deal with the natural light on location, including exterior windows and incandescent lighting. The Practilite 602 handles all of these situations with excellent color and amazing flexibility. It is true that the output is not as strong as our Arri 650's, but those were overkill for our location interviews. No heat, dial in your color temperature, and the cameraman can adjust intensity and color while behind the camera using his iPhone. These lights are everything we were looking for, plus bonus bluetooth! We bought three of them.

Ive only used it once so far but everything has been great. The light is quiet, bright and just simple to use. I used it to light a wedding and was absolutely amazing with the app that just works. I wouldnt change at thing. Will probably look at picking up another one in the near future.

I'm impressed by the build quality (all aluminium) and the features. It's a really compact but very powerful bi-color fresnel. Easy to set up and adjust. I wasn't sure about the smartphone app but it's surprisingly easy to use. Bluetooth connection works even from 50ft like a charm and no need for annoying Bluetooth pairing, which is nice. I'm using 3 practilites at the same time via iphone in my studio and it's really a huge time saver. I'm running those on my gold- mount PAG batteries and a practilite runs on 100% for more than 2 hours. The boost mode was a bit confusing at first but it's just like an overdrive mode and can be useful when you need some extra lighting power but really don't care about the colour temperature. According to Kinotehnik boost mode must be disabled (or at least not recommended) while running on battery, though? All in all, a solid piece of equipment.

Bought these light for college students to use for their projects and paying client work about a year ago. They are very durable. College students can destroy equipment very fast. These lights are holding up great. They are powerful and the adjustable color makes these lights useful in many situations. Being able to use a smart phone to control up to 6 of these lights on a set has proven to be very valuable. We also purchased soft boxes that we include in the travel case. The lights are more expensive than other lighting options but being able to have a fixture that is focusable, powerful and multi color makes them a great option. Only concern is; the power cable is very thin. Hope we don't have to replace them.

I will preface by saying that I recently got this and I've used it at only 3 events so my experience is pretty fresh.

I love it. It's now a standard part of my wedding videography kit. Love the mobility, colour adjustments and dimming.


The app works really well with my iPhone. Even when waking up my phone, the Bluetooth reconnects with the light in second.


With the V-mount adapter (sold separately), I can use it with battery power and move this light around the reception space on my 13' light stand and change the light of the scenes as needed.

I honestly wish I got this earlier in my career. Pricey but worth it.

Looking to buy another one next year and finding some solution for mounting Bowen's accessories.

This is the perfect light for events - the bluetooth function and the quality of the lights are excellent. Really pleased with this purchase.
