A: This version of the Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone is the EW version which is wired with a 3.5mm TRS locking connector for compatibility with Sennheiser transmitters and other wireless transmitters that use the same wiring configuration and this mic has a black finish. The MKE 2 Gold is also available in beige finish and with different connectors for compatibility with other wireless transmitters. In addition to the 3.5mm locking connector, the MKE 2 is also available with a 3-pin LEMO connector or with a pigtail connector. The mic itself is exactly the same regardless of the color or the connector. Be aware that the MKE 2 Gold requires 7.5V of plug-in power supplied through the mic input of the transmitter or device it will be connected to.
