A: Hi, the LensCoat Lens Cover is made to be used while the cover is on the lens. When used the waterproof cover is design to protect the lens from harsh outdoor elements. Takes excellent photos with minimal distortion at wider angles. Photo quality drops off slightly at 35mm. If you partner this with the Tamron 35-150 2-2.8, you've got the perfect versatile two lens solution for Alpha (if you need to shoot 35, just use the Tamron). Extremely high quality lens that is great for landscapes and real estate!!

The Sony 16-35 f2.8 GM is just a real gem in the Sony lineup. Balances nicely on the A7R3, while producing very sharp photos! Great for street, astro, architectural, or landscape work...
And when paired with the GM 24-70 f2.8, they make an unbeatable zoom combo!

This lens is versatile, fast, and sharp. Great for working around the A7IV's 4K60 Super35 video crop. It's a great lens for landscape, videography, vlogging, astro, and just about anything else.

Its been about a year and a half since I started using the 16-35mm 2.8 GM.  (gave my 16-35mm f4 zeiss to my daughter)  I simply had to write this review.  Ive now tested it side to side with the new SONY 24mm 1.4 GM and the images are very similar.  Its the ONLY zoom lens that delivers the sharpness and BOKEH you would expect from Prime lenses in the f1.4 & f2 world.  Yes its not a throw it in your bag anytime lens. It is fairly big and heavy.  BUT, man, I really could live on this lens alone for almost everything I shoot for a living.  I bought it for location scouting but now use it for everything!  Especially gimbal work.  .  Below are 2 images 1st is from the 24mm 1.4 GM the second is from the SONY 16-35MM 2.8 GM  at 24mm zoom.

I have received my camera and lens couple of days ago and I am quite impressed with the quality and the sharpness, I am kind of curious why people are hating this lens, or trying to compare with other brands, just get it and use it and you will see the difference easily.

This lens is super sharp and I am super happy! I upgraded from the Zeiss f4 which shocked me with lack of resolution. Now, things are perfect!

I love this lens! It’s sharp, the autofocus is lighting fast, it has a great zoom range, and the focus ring is really good for a focus by wire lens.

Even though the 24-70GM is the star, the 16-35mm range is underrated. I find that getting those super wide angles really captures the location you’re at. This is a superb lens and also smaller than the 24-70.
