I've been looking for a secure manfrotto baseplate that can be dropped in and this was the answer. The smallhd attempt at this has a bit of a wobble and this one is solid once locked. 5

After searching for ages to find a top plate that's top-loading for a manfrotto 501/504 plate, I found this. I had been told that this is only a slide-in loader, but based on the pictures, I gambled. This thing is great. Comes with a plate, and also Locks in pretty tight. Now I have it permanently attached to the plate of my shoulder rig allowing me to quickly pop the shoulder plate and handles on and go! tl;dr it's a top loading quick release plate which I've wanted to find. 5

This Baseplate is my second item from the brand and for both of them I would say they are smartly designed, lightweight, very rigid with a quality mechanical execution. I'm now a fan of the brand. 5
