Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this unit half rackmount able ?

A: Although the Furman AC-215A does come with mounting hardware, its dimensions are smaller than the standard half-rack size.

Q: 2. It looks like this doesn't come with a power supply. If that is correct, is there an approved one for this unit?

A: The KeyStep offers two options for powering. The USB port can connect to a computer for both power and data. The USB cable can also be used with a wall plug (the type that you would use to charge a phone), such as the Xuma 2.4A USB Charger with Folding Prongs (B&H # XUCAC124). The other option for powering is to use a standard 9V DC 500mA center positive (5.5 X 2.1 X 12mm) power adapter, such as the BOSS PSA-120S AC Adapter (B&H # BOPSA120S2). Here is a link for the product manual -- see page 15 for info regarding the power options. http://downloads.arturia.net/products/keystep/manual/KeyStep_Manual_1_0_0_EN.pdf

Q: 3. Is this UL Rated?

A: Yes, the Fellowes 7-Outlet Metal Power Strip BH #FE99089 is UL rated.

Q: 4. How long is the power cable on this?

A: The AC power cable included with the M-8S is 10 feet in length.

Q: 5. Can the Korg SQ1 be used to sequence lights for a light show?

A: If your light board can accept the CV/GATE OUT, MIDI OUT or USB MIDI instructions from the KORG, then yes.

Q: 6. how to hook up ms 20 to sq1?

A: Well, you can1) Connect 5-pin MIDI out of SQ1 into 5-pin MIDI In on MS20. You cannot transpose with the MS20 kbd2) Set Gate Out polarity to negative on SQ1 - read the manual section on global parameter settings for this. Set Channel A to 8V (Hz/v), connect CV-A and Gate-A of SQ1 to VCO 1+2 CV IN and TRIG In on MS20 respectively. You cannot transpose with the MS20 kbd 3) Set Gate out as in 2 above, but set Channel A to 1, 2, or 5V. Connect Gate-A as in 2 above, connect CV-A to TOTAL input on MS20, and adjust the Freq Mod MG/T.EXT until you get correct scaling - eg if SQ1 is set to 1V output, then a pitch knob should change by exactly one octave from fully CCW to fully CW. The MG/T.EXT knob will be in the 7-8 range, but this is very sensitive - a pain to set!. The benefit is that you can now transpose the incoming sequence with the SM20 kbd.

Q: 7. is it 120v ??

A: Yes

Q: 8. Is this 15 amp or 20 amp rated?

A: The ART PS 4x4 can handle up to a 15A load.

Q: 9. my battery door is broken. there is a little gold piece like a washer for the screw to thread into...but this piece is not attached to anything so the screw won't turn to hold the door closed. has anyone had this problem...and if so...any fixes other than tape? i have had the item less than a year...so i am a bit bummed.

A: The gold piece is a brass nut that is pressed in a hole and held by friction. It most likely came loose by overtightening of the door screw. The solution is to disassemble the whole back panel and to carefull hammer the periphery of the hole with a ball pen hammer to make it a little smaller. Press the brass nut back into the hole and reassemble the back plate. Do not overtighten the door screw.

Q: 10. Are these 240v models?

A: Unfortunately we do not offer this product in a 240 VAC model.

We power a stationery video recorder/camera and our sound system through this multi-outlet power source. We just plugged it in, plugged in our six units and we were done. Sequence outlets offer a nice perk for those who need it.

Whenever I install A/V gear, I include a PS-8R. It provides good power conditioning as well as power sequencing. They have always worked as expected. I recommend them.
