A: The On-Stage MS9701TB+ features a 5/8 threading that is compatible with most standard mic clips ( not included ). The Rode NTG-1 does ship with a stand clip that is compatible with this stand.

Q: 5. Will this work for a Rode video mic pro? I want to have it above the person standing, just out of the video shot. What adaptor will I need to attach the Rode?

A: Two. The boom arm adds two more as a stand only

A: The boom when extended is rated for about 6.5lbs.

Q: 10. What is the screw thread on the end of the arm? I have a Lume Cube Panel and I want to be able to screw that on if I need only a small off-camera light. Will I need an adapter?

A: The stud on the end of the Combo Boom Stand has a 1/4" thread on one side and 3/8" on the other. The 1/4" side fits the bottom of the LumeCube panels.

I own several Manfrotto products and they're all professional grade quality from their design, materials and construction. Well thought out boom tripod on a solid platform. This gives me a huge overhead light in my studio and my concerns that the boom might tip over were unfounded. I haven't even had to use the included counter-weight for balance. 5

Excellent stability, easy to use, and relatively inexpensive - what more could one ask for. it does not come with a set screw, so go to the hardware store and pick up an M6(metric) thumb screw for $0.60 if you don't have a screw that will work. 5

It's SOLID! The think extends like forever. I can put my light right on top of my subject. It takes the weight od my Alienbee with a big softobox (pretty heavy) at no problem. Feels sturdy, and is very heavy. I love it. 5

Wow, talk about sturdy! We own several products from Manfrotto and this is top notch. We needed something alot more sturdier and this fit the bill. It is used to hold a 24x36 softbox with monoblock strobe. This will not fall onto your client and that was one of the things we had to consider the most. The boom and stand are well build products by a great company. 5

This is a huge boom and works really well. It breaks down to travel although the weight is fairly large, it requires a big bag. The allen wrench connections take about 1 minute to unscrew and take apart. Cable clips are handy but a bag would be nice to have included to keep it all in. 5

I use this with Profoto lights in our studio. I've attached Profoto 600R monolights without a thought of them falling over. Great robust product for getting your lights where you want them -- high with the stand out of the way. 5
