Available for download, SONUSCORE Lyrical Vocal Phrases is a virtual instrument and sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt. It provides the sound of a soprano singing lyrical phrases in six different languages, including Italian, Latin, and Elvish, as well as pure vowel sounds. This Sample Library is built around the concept of a “phrase instrument.” The people at SONUSCORE enlisted Conny Kollet, a singer featured in the Elder Scrolls Online MMO game, as well as films such as The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Kollet sings flowing, evocative melodies in every key, many scales, and in many modes—phrases which were impeccably recorded and organized by the developers into a layout that is easy to manipulate as you compose. Each phrase has been sung in four different keys, to keep artificial pitch shifting to a minimum; at most, you're only pitching a phrase up or down by half a semitone. 

The idea is to connect all these themes into something wholly new; to that end, intuitive keyswitches have been provided to transition between themes, sections of themes, keys, and to some extent, the phrasing of these themes. While it is simple for any composer under a deadline to use this software for quick mockups, the developers of Lyrical Vocal Phrases hope that you can, like a Musique Concrète composer—or hip hop producer—daisy-chain and layer phrases together to make unique expressions of your own. As such, this is a useful tool for composers working in the video game and film industries. 

These phrases have been recorded rubato, so they do not conform to a conventional tempo. However, if you need them to line up to the grid, you can use the Speed parameter in the GUI to slow or accelerate the tempo of the phrase in real time, subtly nudging the phrase in time. This is MIDI-controllable, and you can assign it to your mod wheel or other compatible destination. 

An effects section provides a four band EQ, delay, reverb, and a convolution engine. Over 300 phrases were provided in all, spread amongst 17 themes. A full version of Native Instruments Kontakt version 5.6.8 or later is required to run Lyrical Vocal Phrases, and the virtual instrument can operate on both Mac and Windows platforms. It requires 5GB of hard disk space.

A: The sample Pad 4 does feature velocity sensitive pads.

A: The SamplePad 4 does not have MIDI in or out. You would be able to do this with the Alesis SamplePad Pro.

Q: 3. if i load a sample into the volca, is it permanently there? like, could I unplug it from my computer, take it on the go, and then I have that sound in it with me?

A: This unit has 200 sample memory slots, and should store then on the unit itself.

Q: 4. Before I order this - How do I know exactly which paper is which when I open the pack? Are they labeled? Are they in a specific order? Sometime things can be obvious, but sometimes the blank papers can be hard to tell apart ...

A: They are in separate clear packages Each clear package is labeled as to which paper it contains and which side to print on. Make sure to visit the Epsom web site and download the correct occur profiles for each paper. I really liked these paper and ended up purchasing a package of each.

A: Yes the Hahnemuhle Natural Line is archival quality.

Q: 6. where can you download the ICC profiles for these? The epson site for the P800 seems to only have a few legacy papers

A: When I researched this question Epson told me that they only had a few ICC profiles. Its frustraiting and disappointing that Epson has limited ICC support. Ive used these papers with general settings like glossy and matte. Finally, I got RedRiver paper that offers ICC Profiles. Ive been happy with the result.

A: The one that I recieved was 5/8

Q: 8. Does this work for any DSLR? I have the Nikon D3100.

A: The Audio-Technica ATR1300 is a dynamic mic which requires no external powering. This makes it widely compatible with devices that feature mic input capabilities. This is true for DSLRs as well as portable audio recorders and similar devices. Unfortunately the Nikon D3100 specifically, does not offer an external mic input jack and would not be able to this or external mics in general.

A: No. They are either on or off.

A: You can use a 3.5mm TRS to 1/4" TS adapter such as the C2G 3.5mm Stereo Male To 6.3mm Mono Female Adapter (B&H #CA40635) or Hosa Technology 1/4" TS Female to 3.5mm TRS Male Adapter (B&H #HOASMMPFQ).
