The Miller Sprinter II 2-Stage Alloy Tripod is a quick-setup solution for a tripod head with 100mm ball base. Its light weight, flip-locks, and rigid construction allow for durability without compromising usability in ENG, EFP, and other pro video applications. Unlike many traditional multi-stage designs, both flip-locks are located on the same section for easy reaching, no matter the height setting. The fast setup is complemented by an in-line carry handle, for portability on set or in the field. Compatible spreaders, rubber feet, and dollys are available separately.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is it delivered with its transport's bag?

A: yes, the bag is included in the system

Q: 2. Greetings. What is the difference between the new CX6 fluid head and the old CX6 fluid head?

A: Unfortunately, the new version has yet to be available to us and no explicit specifications have been provided at this time by the manufacturer, thus we recommend posing your inquiry directly to Miller for an expedited and accurate response: https://bit.ly/35gWVo8

Q: 3. I purchased my Ace trips for my new sony camcorder and love it. I would also like to use this tripod with my Canon 7d for both still and video applications. What accessories would you recommend to properly mount the 7D to this tripod head?

A: The Ace tripod system is excellent for the 7D in most any video configuration you wish. You can start out by just mounting the 7D directly on the tripod with the included quick release. If you progress in video, you will find you will want a cage to hold accessories, such as a mic, a light, a mic receiver, etc, etc. Then you may wish to go hand held. There are dozens of firms making such handheld 15mm shoulder DSLR rigs. Zacuto, Redrock, SHAPE, Genus, ikan are just some of the good quality ones. The trick comes with wanting to do stills with this tripod as well. Using a video head for stills is very limiting mostly because of not being able to go vertical. Other disadvantages are the pan handle gets in the way, and fast framing is impossible because the fluid, while great when shooting video, slows you down lining up still shots. Generally, in the long run, a still photo tripod is preferred. However, to economize, the answer is to remove the video head and put a still photo ball head in its place. Do so by adding a 75mm ball to flat adapter like the one from E-image seen attached. Then mount a still photo tripod head such as the Giottos to the flat base. This should work pretty well.

Q: 4. What is the load capacity of the legs alone? In case I want to mount a slider with a camera.

A: Not more than 8 pounds and that is pushing it. Of course you know that sliders are best when secured at both ends or on solid ground...unless it is a very short slider.

Q: 5. Is this tripod compatible with the following spreaders?https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/598801-REG/Miller_993_993_Mid_level_Spreader.htmlIs this tripod compatible with the following Feet? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/254597-REG/Miller_475_475_Rubber_Feet_Pads.html If these are not compatible can you recommend the items that are?

A: no this is not compatible with the Miller 993 Mid-level Spreader

Q: 6. Is there a hi-hat that fits my Sachtler ace ball?

A: Yes, you just need one tha fits 75mm half ball heads. Ask your local rental houses.

Q: 7. can the spreader be removed? would that affect the stability?

A: Yes removing the ground spreader would effect stability. You could add a Mid-Level spreader. Also you could choose the Mid-level model of this tripod for additional stability. Mid-level Tripod Kit - https://bhpho.to/3Ibs0xk Mid-Level spreader - https://bhpho.to/3FZF5Hx

Q: 8. Does this include a bag or case with purchase?

A: No this does not. For a tripod by Miller, I would want to have a case of equal quality. HPRC 6400TRIB Wheeled Hard Case for Tripods with Soft Interiors Kit (Black) B&H # HP6400WTRIB.

Q: 9. Is this tripod and head capable of smooth panning and tilting with my GH5 and 100-400mm lens set at 400? This is 800mm full frame equivalent.

A: This will be an excellent choice. The Ace head is very smooth and will handle your camera and lens with ease.

Q: 10. Will this work with an older Miller 80 Tripod?

A: We're afraid not. This is specifically for the 402 and 420 Tripods. So that we may best assist you finding the proper product for your needs feel free to email us directly at askbh@bhphoto.com.
