The Miller CX2 Fluid Head is designed to accommodate a wide payload range with 16 steps of counterbalance. Pan, tilt, and counterbalance can all be set to zero, enabling even the lightest of cameras to be supported. Maxed out, this head is rated to support camera setups up to 17.5 pounds, suitable for a DSLR or mirrorless camera rig, a smaller cinema camera, or a small ENG camcorder. Securing your camera or rig is easy. The sideload plate design enables you to simply drop in your camera without the alignment issues posed by rear-loading variations. The plate offers 2.4" of sliding range to balance your rig.

To survive fast-paced shooting environments, the CX2 is die-cast from a lightweight, yet durable metal alloy with composite polymers and precision ball-bearings for smooth mechanical operation. Even in harsh conditions, the CX2 will perform reliably. The base of the CX2 is a 75 ball for mounting to compatible tripods and grip equipment. An illuminated bubble level makes it easy to level the CX2 in dark environments. A pan handle with a 15.4" fixed length is included and a second rosette is incorporated for attaching an optional second pan handle.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. In a comment above it says that it does not have a shoulder strap, but I want to know, does it have the hooks to put one on myself? and another question; Does the case have a hard side? stay tuned

A: The Miller Softcase for 2-Stage Toggle 2 Tripod Systems does have a set of D-rings in order to accept an optional shoulder strap. It does not have a hard side.

Q: 2. Is this suitable for canon c100 mark ii with shotgun mic, cinevate duzi v4, and canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens, and yes for long term ?

A: This Tripod has a load capacity between 4.4 to 11 Pounds. The combination of items you listed will be pushing that load capacity. I recommend the Miller SOLO DV 20 instead, B&H # MIDS20SDV2, which has a load capacity up to 22 pounds. It will better be able to handle the items you listed and it is a great long term investment.https://bhpho.to/2AnvSJo

Q: 3. Will this support an FS7 package with Atomos Shogun and 70-200 lens in low mode (widest leg angle)? I ask, because I effortlessly snapped the leg of my Benro doing that.

A: The Miller Solo-Q 75 2-Stage Carbon Fiber Tripod is very strong and will hold payload weights up to 44lbs which would be far lower than the FS7 kit you work with. It would be a perfect strong tripod option for your payload.

Q: 4. What is the lowest height that this tripod will go?

A: The lower the 1589 Sprinter II will go is 26.4 .

Q: 5. Does the tripod work with Canon 5D Mark III?

A: yes

Q: 6. Does the head accept a standard Manfrotto 501 sliding plate?

A: We're afraid not. This head uses the Miller 1204 style plate. https://bhpho.to/2Use2dY

Q: 7. Greetings. What is the difference between the new CX6 fluid head and the old CX6 fluid head?

A: Unfortunately, the new version has yet to be available to us and no explicit specifications have been provided at this time by the manufacturer, thus we recommend posing your inquiry directly to Miller for an expedited and accurate response: https://bit.ly/35gWVo8

Q: 8. Can I use this with an sachtler FSB8 head?

A: You will need an adapter to fit the Sachtler video head's 75mm ball base into the Miller tripo's 100mm bowl. Here is one that is a high quality answer. Sachtler Adapter 75/100 75mm Ball Base to 100mm Bowl Adapter B&H # SA3906. Here is a more affordable alternative. Manfrotto 319 75mm to 100mm Bowl Adapter B&H # MA319.

Q: 9. Does this hold a Miller Arrow 40 systems?

A: Sorry, no this is too small. We recommend the one Miller suggests-Special Order: Miller 870 Arrow Soft Case - for 1-Stage Tripod Systems (Except Systems with HD Tripod) B&H # MI870 .

Q: 10. I'm a tad confused about the 2-step weight specs. 2-steps, 10 and 22 lbs(4.5 - 10 kg) ....what does this mean? I shoot with a fairly light DSLR set-up and am slightly concerned about reviews regarding the fluid heads performance with minimal weight.

A: I have been shooting with the SOLO 20 for about a year now. Most of the time I shoot with the Canon 600 F4, 1.4 converter, and 1D MKIV without looking at the actual weights I would say its about 17 pounds. I think it would be more stable with a bigger tripod, but I'm not interested in packing around anything bigger. I also shoot the 1D MKIV with the sigma 150-600mm sport lens on this tripod and it as solid as a rock (11 pounds or so.) I would like to see one improvement to this tripod; I feel the first leg stop on this tripod is too tight, if the legs where out a little more on the first stop the tripod would be more stable with 20 LB load. The next setting on the tripod is too wide, maybe they could add one in the middle. I have been very happy with this tripod worth the money. I rented it from lens rental before I bought it.Harlan
