Rosco Fluorescent Lighting Sleeves/Tube Guards are a very reliable and cost-effective system for easy control of tough lighting scenarios- especially under fluorescents. In addition to the financial benefits of the sleeves, they protect against the potential disaster of glass shattering by containing the lamp within the end caps.
Rosco sleeves are constructed of a solid polycarbonate tube within which is held the specific filter. The choice of filters and combination of filters is endless - there are complete Roscolux, Cinegel or E-Colour color filter lines - something for every venue, every photographer, every cinematographer.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. What is the tungsten equivalent output? Is it powerful enough as a key light for stills photography?
A: The actual measured tungsten equivalent is about the same as 400W fresnel light. To put this into perspective it means when compared to common 300W fixtures the Practilite602 is little bit more powerful. For example common tungsten fresnel @ 300W outputs 2500lx in flood and 6500lx in spot whereas Practilite602 outputs 3100lx and 10000lx, not to mention it outputs about 15000lx in Boost Mode @ 4500K.If it is enough as a key light it depends on the subject matter, the scene and of course on the sensitivity you are willing to use: the smaller the scene the more light will you have, as for normal portraiture it will do fine but remember if you add a softbox/chimera you will lose half the light output which can be compensated by moving the light closer to the subject, if possible. As this light is focusable you are able to direct and shape the light without any additional modifiers.
Q: 2. Fan noise? Overview says "Silent hybrid cooling system". Is there a fan in addition to a heat sink? What does "silent" truly mean - if using for video production, is the fan noise loud enough to be picked up on a microphone? Is there a fan dB number?
A: I own one of these. Its very quiet. I do not have a DB rating for it, but I've never noticed the noise of the fan.
Q: 3. do these have DMX input for a cintenna or skynode control?
A: No, the Kinotehnik Practilite 602 LED Bi-Color Fresnel 3-Light Kit with Case lacks a DMX input for Cintenna or Skynode control.
Q: 4. Can you hang these, and if so, what bracket/mounts would you recommend?
A: Yes you can hang them, if it's a drop ceiling you can use Impact Scissor Mount for Drop Ceilings B&H # IMSRP124 or get BH #IMSRP115P for a solid ceiling.
Q: 5. What kind battery do you recommend for Practilite 602?
A: I would go with the VariZoom S7101 D-Tap XLR cable and the Dracast V-mount Battery. The other alternative would be to plug the regular power cable into a Paul C Buff Vagabond Li-Ion Battery. It all depends on whether you have other uses for V-mount battery or not.
Q: 6. If I buy the 2 light kit, is there still space in the hard case to put a 3rd light later (when I have more money)?
A: The case they use can hold up to three of the Practilite 602.
Q: 7. Is this light hard enough to cut a clean cookie?
A: From what we have seen, this light emitting from this fresnel would be hard enough when used with a wood or cello cookie.
Q: 8. Will this work with a Sony mirrorless camera?
A: The Ultrastrap and Mini Softbox can work for a Sony shoe mount flash that is used on a Sony mirrorless camera. Having tested the Sony A3000 with the Soft Screen diffuser, it does work fine. However, it would not work with other Sony mirrorless cameras as the hot shoe and flashes are positioned away from one another such as the A6000.
Q: 9. Is this light about the same size as an Arri 300w tungsten or closer to an Arri 650w tungten? I need to travel with it.
A: This light is similar in size to a Arri 300w.
Q: 10. Will bowens s-mount accessories work with this light? I'd like to use a snoot or a beauty dish with it.
A: This fixture would not fit Bowens S Type modifiers. However, it is compatible with the Profoto OCF Light Modifiers, with the help of the Profoto Speedring for OCF Flash Heads B&H # PROCFSR.
