Q: 1. Hi, any idea where I can buy a top cap for the umbrella? It unscrews and falls off. It's the very end, metal piece at the tip of the umbrella. Certified service centers don't sell them. I would hate to have to buy a new umbrella for this particular piece that I'm sure they have extras for. =) Thanks!

A: Hi Albert, You could probably substitute a flat washer and an M6 metric nut. It wouldn't be as pretty, but it would do the job. You could find these at your local hardware store or the hardware department at Home Depot. Good Luck!

Q: 2. I there a manual on how to put this together?

A: Yes, there are assembly instructions included with the iStarUSA WD-460 Simple Server Rack.

Q: 3. What size filter ring?

A: The Holga 120N Medium Format Film does not have built-in filter threads.

Q: 4. What type of film is needed to use this?

A: 120 medium format, color or B/W. Just don't try 220 in an attempt to save $$$.

Q: 5. But is there really a different aperture for the cloudy and sunny setting? for years they have had this switch, but there was no stop-down when you flipped the switch, no matter what the instruction manual said or what the specs claimed. If this version changed that, it would be great to know for sure! I'd order one right now if that was confirmed. Thanks!

A: Yes the lens stops down from f8 (cloudy) to f11 sunny.

Q: 6. Hi, Profoto certainly makes outstanding lighting gear but do you think their umbrellas are worth the extra cost? Is there a visual difference? How much of a difference is there between the deep and shallow Profoto umbrellas? Thanks. Paul

A: I thought that there would be no difference before I bought one, but now after using the Deep Umbrella a couple of times, I feel that it is worth the price. The light output is nice and even, with some drop off as opposed to a normal umbrella that spreads light everywhere. Plus, I have found that the deep umbrella tends to be easier to control the direction of the light since it reflects from the inside of the umbrella instead of through it, like a normal umbrella. Finally, the construction is top-notch and the fiberglass rods inside seem much more durable that the other umbrellas I already have. The outer layer is much thicker and the steel rod is rigid. Because of the heavier duty construction the unit weights a little more than a normal umbrella, but it's not that noticeable. Paired with my B1, this is a great modifier for me on the go, rather than using a Softbox that requires me assemble it. This deep umbrella pops open and attaches in seconds.

Q: 7. where do i get film developed?

A: We currently offer film mailers for 120 format film in black and white or positive film: https://bhpho.to/39RKgIZ https://bhpho.to/30pPjgx

Q: 8. Does the camera come with an instruction manual?

A: It does not include a full manual.

Q: 9. what's the part for the lcd arm?

A: The part number for the LCD arm for this iStarUSA 31.5" Deep 18 RU Simple Server Rack (Black) would be BH #ISWALCDARM

Q: 10. Can I put any 120 film? Such as Kodak ektar or port

A: Yes, this camera takes any 120 format film.

I've been using this on location mostly for individual portraits and it has been fantastic. One of the first things I noticed is the construction and how well this umbrella is compared to others I've used in the past. The size is really perfect for travel and works amazing with the B1 system. I also purchased the diffuser and it adds such a nice softness to the images especially at close distance. I only wished for the cost of the umbrella that they would include the diffuser. Overall, this has been the go-to umbrella for the key light. It's a little pricey but absolutely worth it, in my opinion!

This is another excellent product from Profoto, sturdy construction and most importantly, it does a great job softening the light. Highly recommended.

The Profoto deep medium umbrella provides soft window-like light that is great for indoor or outdoor portraiture. Since it is parabolic in shape and that you can focus the light gives me even more control on how I light my subject. The larger the light source is, the softer the light. But the deep umbrellas are quite focused because they are parabolic. They are easy to carry, setup, and take down. I have two of these deep medium umbrellas and provide lighting that is simple but yields beautiful results. I use my umbrellas with the Profoto B2. You will not be disappointed with this umbrella and the quality and durability of this Profoto product.

The Profoto Deep Umbrellas are very well made and durable light shapers. These are designed to attach to the Profoto moonlight head using the interference fit provided for the umbrella shaft. The spacing between the umbrella end and moonlight is adjustable providing the ability to alter the light shape. The white umbrella provides a softer light. The umbrella comes with a sleeve to keep it clean during transport and storage.

I fell in love immediately with this umbrella. The light wraps around the subject in a beautiful way. I haven't seen this before. I imagine is similar to a deep octa. Other great aspect is that I don't need a specific adapter to use on my strobes so I can use it with any brand and super easy. I recommend this strongly.

Love it! Its more efficient since it grabs more light from your bulb. More directional due to the deep parabolic design. Also it minimizes lens flare because the light is deep in the umbrella (less stray light from your strobe). Good build quality, nice case.

I have to admit that I was a little hesitant about buying an umbrealla from Profoto as the cost was much more expensive than other umbrellas that I have had. I am pleased to say that this umbrealla is great! It is the deep octa, so you can control the direction of the light and the quality is awesome! The construction is top-notch and the unit fits on my B1 very well. I have used it for a couple of shoots and it's so easy to set up as opposed to a Softbox.
