Simple yet versatile, the Fujifilm X-mount 35mm f/1.7 Lens from Opteka is a 52.5mm equivalent lens characterized by its bright f/1.7 maximum aperture to suit working in low-light conditions and for achieving shallow depth of field. One super-low dispersion element is featured in the optical design, and helps to minimize color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to realize high clarity and color accuracy. An HD anti-reflection coating has also been applied to suppress flare and ghosting and a nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality. Additionally, the lens sports a manual focus design and its manual aperture ring has been de-clicked for smooth, silent aperture transitions.

This 35mm f/1.7 lens is designed for APS-C-format Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 52.5mm equivalent focal length.

Bright f/1.7 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and also affords greater control over depth of field.

One super-low dispersion element is used to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for increased clarity and color accuracy.

An HD anti-reflection coating has been applied in order to suppress ghosting and flare for increased contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.

Nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Manual focus design along with a manual aperture ring offer precise control over both focus and exposure, and the aperture ring has been de-clicked for smooth, silent f/stop changes to suit filmmaking applications.

All-metal construction is durable and depth of field and focus distance scales have been engraved on the lens barrel for pre-focusing needs.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I am confused among opteka 50mm f2 and 7artisans 50mm f1.8, how is the image sharpness at widest aperture? I want to use it with xt100.

A: Our 50mm is very sharp, even at the widest aperture, however, the optimal sharpness is almost always at 2 stops down.

Q: 2. Can this lens focus in auto with de XT-1?

A: It is a manual focus lens only, it will not autofocus on any camera.

Q: 3. Does this lens have a de-clicked aperture ring?

A: Yes, teh aperture ring is declicked.

Q: 4. Does the aperture ring have click stops?

A: this lens has De-Clicked Aperture Ring

Q: 5. Can focus be set to infinity?

A: You can use this lens to focus at infinity but it is not a hard stop at infinity. You need to check the camera LCD and manual focus until a subject at infinity looks sharp.

Q: 6. Opteka 35mm f/1.7 Lens for Canon EF-M , I connected this lens to my camera but I could'nt click my shutter?

A: Since the lens has no electronics your camera likely doesnt realize theres a lens attached. there should be a setting somewhere that overrides that.try googling your camera model and no lens shutter override .

Q: 7. Is it compatible for fujifilm x-t100

A: Hi, this lens is compatible with the X-T100.

Q: 8. Can you set the aperture to wide open and have the camera body regulate aperture?

A: Unlike older MF Nikon lenses where you would set the minimum aperture to control it through the body , you have to adjust the aperture from the lens.

Q: 9. Will this fit on a X-T100?

A: Yes this will fit on any x-mount camera.

Q: 10. Will it work for Lumix G7?

A: Bought mine for a Canon M5. Returned it because it would not allow the shutter to operate. Also it would bind so badly when being removed I was fearful of damaging the camera body. Very disappointing product.

Pretty heavy piece of glass but really a gorgeous addition to my kit.

I now own 3 opteka lenses. I think they are a great value. So don't be lazy. Learn to use a manual lense and save a lot of cash.

I read so many negative reviews about this lens having manual focusing problems that I almost didn’t get it, but for me it’s been fine. Perhaps there’s been a firmware update since the original spate of reviews because it’s as smooth as every other Fuji lens at this point. Autofocus seems to be fine as well, though I don’t use it much. As for subject tracking, I wouldn’t know. Image quality-wise it’s as fantastic as everyone says. I could only afford one lens and I’m very happy I chose this one.

Quality is comparable to the 110mm f/2 which is in an incredible lens. Lightyears better than the cheaper 50mm f/3.5. Portrait images are stunning. Beautiful background wide open and tack sharpe. At times reminds me of the Pentax 67 105mm f/2.4 lens. The nose of the focus does not distract whatsoever to the overall end result.

This is a nice lens, easy to use and works great with my Sony A6000

Optically, this lens is basically flawless. Zero CA, beautiful bokeh, deeply saturated colors and incredible sharpness wide open. The build is solid metal and it is a reasonable weight and length.

The AF motor is noisy and it doesn't silently snap to focus like a top tier FF lens. That said - the GFX is not a fast camera and not remotely ideal for sports photography. That's not really what the camera is designed to do best, so this lens being slower has no meaningful impact on workflow or handling. For landscape and portraiture the AF is more than adequate. It just sounds kind of like an old fashioned Nikon 85mm (though not as scratchy). At the end of the day, the focus is reliable and the hit rate is high.

More to the point - the FOV, bokeh, colors and rendering are beautiful. This is a perfect lens for the GFX system.

It’s a manual X Mount lens with endless possibilities. The clarity is unreal and it’s perfect for my daily shooting. It’s made VERY well, all metal casing. The price is low because it’s a manual lens no autofocus or anything, not because it’s low quality. I’m in love, plan on picking a few more lenses from Opteka for my Fugi.

I don't get the people complaining about the lens being slow and noisy. This is Medium Format, everything is bigger and slower. This is not the gear you buy for action shots, you buy it for the amazing picture quality unmatched by anything full format has to offer. And this lens delivers all that while having just the right focal length for street photography. For those that have been around like I have, you didn't buy a Pentax 67 for shooting action either. Horses for courses.

The Fujifilm GF 55/1.7 lens is one of the best lenses among the GF line. It is very sharp even wide open. With F1.7 aperture it is a great lens for portraiture even in dark environment. The size of the lens is a little bit bulky but OK on my GFX 50R body. The focusing is agile but a little bit noisy.

Stunning center sharpness wide open and complete lack of chromatic aberrations. The level of CA correction is on par with the legendary 110mm f/2 and vastly better than the 80mm f/1.7. It is liberating to be able to take pictures of shiny chrome objects in bright sunlight without worrying about bokeh fringing at all.

The edge sharpness drops off a little when wide open due to slight coma which can affect shooting stars and cityscapes at night, but honestly it is nothing to worry about and the problem is completely gone after stopping down by one stop. I do not hesitate at all to shoot this wide open.

According to Zemax simulations of this lens that I saw online, center MTF50 teaches 140 lp/mm wide open. Axial chromatic aberrations (focus shift with respect to wavelength from 436 to 656 nm) is within 18 microns which is less than a third as much as the GF 80, half as much as the Sony GM 50/1.2, and also better than the Sigma Art 40mm.

Autofocus is audible but it is reasonably fast and accurate on the GFX 100S.
