A: There are three orange gels included in the set but they are not accurate CTO gels. I tested them with a color temperature meter and compared the readings with Rosco gels I have for my studio lights and I found them to be considerably warmer than even the Full CTO Rosco gels. For true color accuracy, I would recommend not using the included gels just cut down some Rosco (or other brand) color correction gels.

I and Brian L use a hot shoe flash cable . I bought one from B&H. The flash may be mounted to the bracket via the included accessory shoe mount or via the 1/4-20 screw on top that holds that mount.
