Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Where can I see the backup duration this battery provides for the capacity listed?

A: Thank you for your interest in our products. You can check the runtime of the UPS by going to Status Estimated Runtime on the LCD display.

Q: 2. Is this unit compatible with the APC Smart Card "AP9641" - 2020 version of network card?

A: No it is not compatible.

Q: 3. How long does the battery last when the power cuts off?

A: Typical back-up and run time for 1/2 load is 11 minutes, at full load it is 4 minutes.

Q: 4. Will this power up by itself after extended power outage and battery depletion, or does someone need to turn it back on?

A: The battery back up automatically takes over in case of power disruption.

Q: 5. Are these TAA compliant?

A: Yes, APC Smart-UPS Battery Backup is TAA Compliant.

Q: 6. Hi, is this compatible with QNAP nas? I saw in a youtube video the SMT750i but does that mean that this should work too?

A: The APC Smart-UPS Battery Backup & Surge Pr tector with SmartConnect BH #APS3000RM2UC can be used with a NAS.

Q: 7. Will this work on 15 amp?

A: Thank you for your inquiry. This would have a NEMA 5-20P plug on it. If you change the plug to a 15 amp plug then you would derating the UPS. You wouldn't get the full capacity out of the UPS and it would be rated for around 1,500VA. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

Q: 8. Follow Up question on APC Smart Card "AP9641" & SMT3000C (and also SMT2200C): Do these units *already* have less capable cards that would need to be removed to make room to make room for AP9641 ? If so: What is the best model in this form factor and VA Capacity to buy, with the goal of deploying UPS with AP9641 card?

A: Thank you for your interest in our products. You would not need to remove any card to install the AP9641. The only thing you would need to remove is the blanking panel that covers the slot where the card is installed.

Q: 9. What exactly does this unit provide? Power up computers? Phone?

A: Thank you for your interest in our products. This unit would provide a battery backup during a power outage. For example if you had a small power outage your equipment would stay on till the battery depletes. Usually computers are connected to it but you could connect a phone to it. You would just want to stay under 900 watts so the UPS doesn't become overloaded.

Q: 10. What is the battery connector on the back of the UPS for?

A: The port on the back marked battery is actually a disconnect, not a connector. It is recommended that you disconnect the battery during transportation, and this port provide a convenient way to do so.

What ca I say? It's heavy as an anvil and supplies sinusoidal power. Win 10 discovered it, and win's UPS services are adequate w/o installing the supplied software.

Had a failed battery backup due to increased wattage of workstation power supply plus extra monitor during storm, APC told me 6 yeart old backup faulty, and computer manufacturer recommended this model...difficult to find, not on Amazon and B&H had it with free expedited 2nd day delivery at reasonable cost. Has pure sine wave transmission, which works well with emergency standby generator and with rural electric grid to stabilize current without need for higher level line conditioning. Connects to internet for firmware updates, updated when installed and works flawlessley! Easy to configure as tower for desktop mounting. It is heavy, though (about 40 lbs).

I would highly recommend this product to anyone or integrator looking for a small to medium sized UPS for network power mangement. We have multiples of these deployed in our mobile VSAT trailers for Oil & Gas and Disaster Communications. The display tells you input voltage (critical in field), battery life, watts, run time back up and Amperage consumption and other essentials for power management that gives confidence that your network electronics are well protected.

This UPS is perfect for my largest deep learning Linux box that drinks up to 1600W...thanks to four GPUs and an AMD Threadripper CPU. The only downside was that I had to install a dedicated 20amp circuit and outlet, but it was totally worth it.

I don’t know what else to say. Seemless integration with Synology DSM 6.x

My only regret is not springing for the SMC1500.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unit is perfect for instances where there's only a standard 120V outlet available. Provides enough backup power and protection for IDF assets to ensure uptime and accessibility of corporate resources. Great that these units can be used as a tower or installed in rack with minimal effort. Has a clear to read LCD screen in front as well.

I only needed a few minutes of run time (I have a generator) and this is a nice compact rack mount that will keep things up during the transition.
