The 4' long Ci 1 cable connects the 1/4" output of your guitar or bass to the bodypack transmitter's locking 3.5mm input.

The adjustable input sensitivity on the transmitter accommodates instruments with passive and active electronics, and even line-level audio.

The rugged, all-metal transmitter features a programmable mute function and can be locked out to prevent accidental changes during a performance. A backlit LCD displays essential information and provides fast menu access. The transmitter syncs to the receiver via infrared with a quick press on the Sync button.

The SK 500 G4 is powered via two AA batteries or a rechargeable BA 2015 Accupack battery (available separately). Side contacts allow for recharging the Accupack without removing it from the transmitter—requires the L 2015 quick-charging unit (available separately).

The robust, metal EM 300-500 G4 receiver offers a high-contrast, black-&-white OLED display. The display uses a streamlined menu system with a jog wheel and dedicated Escape button for quick menu navigation. The display also shows battery status of the associated transmitter.

The system features 20 fixed frequency banks with up to 32 compatible frequency presets and 6 user banks with up to 32 user-programmable frequencies.

To prevent interference, the EM 300-500 receiver's true-diversity reception compares incoming signals on two independent receiver circuits to ensure optimal RF quality. To ensure crystal-clear audio, Sennheiser's proprietary HDX compander technology maximizes the microphone's signal-to-noise ratio, while avoiding RF noise.

The built-in equalizer enables you to change the frequency response of the output signal; you can reduce the bass range and boost the treble range. The receiver also offers an adjustable output level range of 48 dB to match the audio input of your mixing board or PA system.

A headphone output with volume control is conveniently located on the front panel, allowing you to monitor your instrument.

The back panel houses a balanced XLR output as well as an unbalanced 1/4" output. A kit is included for rackmount installation. The unit comes with a universal power supply and EU, US, UK, Korea, Australia, and China adapters.

The receiver features an Ethernet (RJ45) port for network-based remote monitoring and control using the Sennheiser Wireless System Manager (WSM) software (free download available separately). Using your Mac/Windows computer, the software allows you to quickly coordinate frequencies in multi-channel setups, display audio levels at the transmitter, battery status, and more.

The detachable antennas with BNC sockets allow you to create a larger system using up to four EM 300-500 G4 receivers connected to a single pair of remote antennas. This setup requires the ASA 214 active antenna splitter (available separately).

Adding a pair of A 1031-U omnidirectional antennas or a pair of A 2003 UHF directional antennas increases the range of your system and offers increased protection against interference.

Sennheiser offers a variety of lavalier, headset, and handheld microphone options to adapt your EW system as your needs evolve.

  • The lightweight MKE 2 lavalier mic and HS 2-ew headset mic both provide exceptional clarity in singing and spoken-word applications.
  • The SKM 500 G4 handheld transmitter is available with a multitude of mic capsule options for presenters and performers who prefer the flexibility of a handheld microphone.
  • The CL 2 cable lets you connect an XLR line source to your transmitter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this work with the ew 100 g3 body pack?

A: Yes, the EM 300-500 G4 receiver is compatible with G3 series transmitters.

Q: 2. Are there any compatible antennas for this to extend the range?

A: No. The Sennheiser EW 500 BOOM G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Plug-On Microphone System includes the bodypack-style EK 500 G4 Pro Wireless Camera-Mount Receiver, which has an integrated/molded antenna, the receiver cannot be used with an external antenna. If you swap the EK 500 receiver and use the Sennheiser EM 300-500 G4 Wireless Receiver (such as B&H # SEEM3005MGAP for AW+: 470 to 558 MHz frequency band), you will be able to use remote mount antennas or half-wave antennas for extended range. However, the EM 300-500 requires AC power and is not camera-mountable, so that could be a drawback if you need to have a portable, battery-powered system.

Q: 3. Does this, or any equivalent wireless kits, have internal recording?

A: No internal recording with these wireless systems.

Q: 4. Is this dual channel to work with lav and plug on at the same time

A: This is a single channel system and can only handle one transmitter per channel.

Q: 5. Will this work with a lav rather than Handheld mic?

A: The Sennheiser EW 500 BOOM G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Plug-On Microphone System will work with XLR lavaliers, and with Sennheiser-wired 3.5mm lavaliers with an adapter that can convert 48v phantom power to plug-in power (such as BH #ROVXLRP).

Q: 6. does this have headphone jack on the receiver?

A: Yes, the EK500 G4 wireless receiver in this kit does have a headphone output. It is easier to see in this image, from Sennheiser's manual: http://www.sennheiser-sites.com/responsive-manuals/ewG4/500P/EN/ew_500P_G4_EN/images/EK_500_Lautst%C3%A4rke-Phones.png

Q: 7. Is the New system ew500 g4 with frequency 470-558mhz, compatible with my Old ew100 G3 System with frequency 516-518?

A: The ew500 transmitters and receivers are compatible with the components of an older ew100 system so long as they are in the same frequency range.

Q: 8. Does the Sennhesier EK 500 G4 Receiver have line out feed to the camera?

A: Maximum AF Output Voltage:1/8 (3.5 mm) Jack Socket: +17 dB (mono, unbalanced) (at peak deviation, 1 kHz AF)Output Level Range42 dB, adjustable in steps of 6 dB

Q: 9. Will this receiver work with the Sennheiser SK 500 G4 Bodypack Transmitter Freq.Range Aw+, 470-558 MHz?

A: Yes, it will work with the SK500G4 AW+.

Q: 10. why two transmitters if you can only use one at a time ?

A: The Sennheiser EW 500 FILM G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Combo Microphone System gives you the option of either using the Sennheiser SK 500 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter and Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, or using the Sennheiser SKP 500 G4 Pro Wireless Plug-On Transmitter, which can be used with either dynamic mics or condenser mics that require phantom power - any microphone with XLR output, such as a handheld mic or shotgun style mic. The SKP 500 G4 can also be used to send audio from a mixer's XLR output to the receiver. Since the Sennheiser EK 500 G4 Pro Wireless Camera-Mount Receiver has a single channel, only one transmitter can be used at a time.
