Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Does this have a filter to keep motion/occupancy sensors from interfering with the signal?
A: Yes, the Sennheiser EW 122P G4 has shielding which protects its internal components from RF interference.
Q: 2. Which set of frequencies might be best for the Hudson Valley region of New York from Westchester to Albany?
A: The A band would be best for the EW112PG4 system. BH #SEEW112PG4A.
Q: 3. Does it work with iPhone camera?
A: This wireless system can be used as an external microphone when shooting video with your iPhone's camera, by connecting the included cable from the receiver to following adapters: Rode SC4 3.5mm TRS Female to 3.5mm Right-Angle TRRS Male Adapter Cable for Smartphones, BH #ROSC4 and the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter, BH #APLAADAP.
Q: 4. Can you plug a hand held mic into the lavalier transmitter?
A: You could plug a Dynamic mic into the transmitter using this specific adapter B&H # SECL2.
Q: 5. Is there any downside to getting two systems that are in different bands (e.g. A and G)?
A: There is not.
Q: 6. Can you buy an additional transmitter and sync it to record two subjects direct to camera? Or do you need to purchase two units?
A: Short answer is no you can not, you will need an additional system if you want to record two subjects. You can send one transmitter to multiple receivers, but not the other way around. One receiver cannot receive signals of two transmitters. There are only a few select systems on the market that have a dual receiver built into one body.
Q: 7. What kind of cable do I need to plug the receiver into a Canon C70 video camera? I understand the Canon C70 has mini XLR ports.
A: Blackmagic Design Set of 2 Mini XLR to XLR Audio Cables for Video Assist 4K (19.5") B&H # BLAXLRMINI2: https://bhpho.to/3r70SF5 OR: Kondor Blue Mini-XLR Male to XLR Female Audio Cable for Canon C70 & BMPCC 6K/4K (Black, 16") B&H # KOMXLR16BK: https://bhpho.to/3xEC35U
Q: 8. I currently own the Sennheiser XSW-D lav set and need to upgrade to a system that will allow two mics simultaneously. Will this receiver allow more than one mic at a time and if so will my existing transmitter work with this receiver?
A: No, the Sennheiser EK 100 G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver included with the Sennheiser EW 122P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System is single-channel and can only be used with one transmitter. Sennheiser does offer any camera-mountable receivers or other EW Series wireless receivers with two channels. You will need to get a second receiver in order to use two transmitters at the same time. If you need to use two mics and have a camera with a single mic input like a DSLR or mirrorless camera, you can use a passive mini mixer such as the Kopul CMX-1-V2 Two-Channel Mini Mixer with Shoe Bracket (B&H # KOCMX1V2) or the Kopul CMCS-1 Passive 3.5mm Microphone Combiner/Splitter (B&H # KOCMCS1) to connect the output from each receiver and then send one signal with the audio from both mics into the camera.
Q: 9. I have this item, is there any way to use this wired? That is, to avoid the need to use batteries for non-moving, studio usage, drawing power from a mixing table for example?
A: If you were to purchase BH #SEMZA900P, this preamp would allow you to connect the lapel mic included with the wireless system to it, and wire it directly to a mixer via an XLR connection.
Q: 10. Can the system be used with a zoom recorder?
A: Yes. Absolutely. I recommend using the XLR output connector to go into the Zoom .
