The Sennheiser EW 135P G4 camera-mount wireless handheld microphone system features the proven combination of reliability, flexible control, and broadcast-quality sound that has made the EW Series an industry standard for videographers, journalists, and content creators all over the world.

The EW 135P G4 gives you the tools to adapt and meet the wireless challenges that inevitably arise on set. The frequency scan function automatically searches for the cleanest frequency at your location, while the transmitter offers an interchangeable capsule design, allowing you to swap mic capsules with different polar patterns to suit your application.

The system includes a camera-mount receiver and an updated, lightweight handheld transmitter equipped with an MMD 835 cardioid capsule—ideal in situations where you don't have time to position a lavalier mic or you need to quickly pass the mic between several people. The receiver connects to a camcorder or a DSLR/mirrorless camera to capture crisp-sounding speech or dialog for projects ranging from wedding and corporate videos to red-carpet and man-on-the-street interviews in noisy environments.

The EW 135P G4 is backward-compatible with previous evolution systems, giving you the ability to mix and match G4/G3/G2/G1 receivers or bodypack, handheld, and plug-on transmitters. It is also compatible with EW 500 systems.

  • The EW 135P G4 features all-metal construction and a lightweight handheld transmitter, well suited for extended use on location.
  • Using the included shoemount adapter, the compact receiver easily mounts on your camera without adding much weight. The included cables allow you to connect the receiver to the 3.5mm or XLR audio input of any DSLR/mirrorless, camcorder, or recording device.
  • Both transmitter and receiver feature daylight-readable LED displays showing reception quality, battery status, and audio level. To get you going quickly, they synchronize via infrared interface with the simple push of a button.

  • The EW 135P G4 ships with an MMD 835 dynamic mic capsule, which delivers a natural sound optimized for speech intelligibility. Its directional cardioid polar pattern helps to reject unwanted background sound, making it ideal in loud environments such as trade-show floors, busy public areas, or sporting events.
  • For outdoor interviews or situations when you're moving the mic quickly between speakers, you can swap out the included 835 cardioid capsule for the MMD 42 capsule (available separately), which offers improved wind protection, less handling noise, and a more forgiving omnidirectional pickup pattern.
  • To take full advantage of the microphone's dynamic range, the system employs proprietary HDX compander technology, preserving your sound without adding unwanted noise during transmission, and delivering audio with remarkable accuracy and quality.

  • Adaptive-diversity reception for reliable transmission up to 330'
  • 46 MHz bandwidth with 1680 tunable UHF frequencies for clean reception
  • 20 frequency banks, each with up to 12 factory-preset channels to prevent intermodulation
  • Pilot tone squelch for eliminating RF noise when transmitter is turned off
  • Receiver with adjustable 48 dB of output level to match the audio input of your camera or recording device
  • User-friendly menu operation with flexible control options
  • Transmitter and receiver feature 4-step battery-life indicator
  • Auto-Lock function avoids accidental changing of settings
  • RF Mute function
  • 8 hours of battery life
  • Powered via AA batteries or rechargeable BA 2015 Accupack batteries (available separately)
  • Side contacts for recharging the receiver's Accupack without removing it—requires the L 2015 quick-charging unit (available separately)
  • Operate up to 12 wireless mics at once on set
  • Unlike digital wireless systems, the SKM 100 G4 transmitter can transmit to an unlimited number of EW Series receivers
  • Wide range of accessories adapts the system to a variety of applications

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will both the handheld mic and the Lav pair to any soundboard? Currently using a Behringer X32 Compatc.

A: The Sennheiser EW 135P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Cardioid Handheld Microphone System does not include a lavalier microphone. The bodypack unit included with this system is the wireless receiver which comes with a camera-mount shoe adapter. The receiver can be connected to a Behringer X32 Compact Mixer using the included receiver output cable with the XLR connector. If you will also need similar wireless lavalier system, you can use the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System or the Sennheiser EW 122P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System. Multiple system can be used simultaneously and each receiver can be connected to a separate input jack on the mixer.

Q: 2. Does it come with a case?

A: No, it does not. We offer a nice waterproof case from SKB that already has the cut outs for the transmitter and receiver, and has some room for accessories. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1288521-REG/skb_3i_0907_bh1_iseries_waterproof_sennheiser_ew.html

Q: 3. How do we know which frequency range to get? Is there a list showing which frequency range is best for specific countries?

A: These Sennheiser products are offered as legal devices in the USA only. Please contact Sennheiser directly in the country you'll be using this product in to purchase the correct system. We do not ship Sennheiser wireless products overseas.

Q: 4. has anyone use Sennheiser EW 112P G4 to send line level audio from a computer audio out to a mixer board line level in stereo i know i will need a 3.5 to 3.5 mm for the transmitter and 3.5 to RCA for the mixer board line in?

A: While the Sennheiser EW112PG4 can be used to transmit line level audio wirelessly, it will only send a single channel of audio. You can mono sum the output of the computer using this device, BH #RALTIBLOX , use the BH# SECL2 cable for xlr into the transmitter, and go single XLR out into the mixer. If you need stereo sends, you would need two transmitters and two receivers for the 2 channels of audio. Here a system, more designed for stereo transmission, BH #ALSTEALTHWRL.

Q: 5. are these still legal in the US? Here's what the FCC says about frequencies - Unlicensed wireless microphone use is permitted on the 902-928 MHz band, the 1920-1930 MHz, and on portions of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands under specified power levels and rules for operation for each of those bands.

A: These are legal in The US without a liscence. The FCC currently allows wireless microphones in the range of 470-608Mhz to opperate.

Q: 6. Can you turn on/off, mute and unmute on the mic?

A: Yes. Page 72 in the manual for the Sennheiser G4 shows where to find the mute button. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/901687.pdf

Q: 7. Does the G4 system work with the Sanken COS-11D?

A: Yes it does. The Sanken mic is far better than the one that comes with the kit and it is perfectly compatible.

Q: 8. How much bias voltage does the 112p G4 transmitter provide? Will it adequately power a DPA 4060 which requires at least 5V?

A: No, the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter included with the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System will supply up to 3V, so it is not a suitable match for use with the DPA Microphones 4060 CORE Omni Lavalier Microphone.

Q: 9. Does this work with a Panasonic G85 or G95 camera?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System would work with the Panasonic Lumix G85 Mirrorless Camera, as the camera has the necessary 3.5mm microphone input connection. The EW 112P G4 includes an adapter to mount the receiver onto the camera shoe, as well as the appropriate cable to connect the receiver's output to the camera's input. It does not appear that the Panasonic Lumix G95 Mirrorless Camera has the necessary 3.5mm microphone input connection, however.

Q: 10. Hi, I own a Sennheiser EW100 G3 Frequency 643.450 MHZ. I want to buy a EW 112P-G4 Omni Directional Mic to work with my EW100 G3 at the same time on my Gh5 XLR unit. Will these 2 wireless mics work with each other with no interference?

A: Yes, they can be used at the same time without interfering with one another. Please be aware that the FCC recently auctioned the 600mHz band away from wireless users, and wireless systems between 614 and 698 mHz will no longer be able to be used in the U.S. after July 2020. https://www.fcc.gov/wireless/bureau-divisions/mobility-division/wireless-microphones
