This brown, ultralow-profile Microphone Madness MM-PSM-s Short Boom Pro Series Omnidirectional Earset Mic delivers clear spoken-word and vocal reproduction for presenters and performers working in music, theatrical, broadcast, house of worship, lecture, and presentation settings. It comes with a Hirose 4-pin connector that plugs into select Audio-Technica bodypack transmitters.
The MM-PSM-s Short Boom Pro Series earset features a 3mm capsule mounted on a very-short 1.25' boom that provides a tight fit with no movement while discreetly positioned away from the mouth for an unobtrusive fit. The lightweight earset can be worn on either the left or right ear and feels natural when used for extended periods of time. The extremely flexible boom is virtually unbreakable.
The capsule delivers full-frequency (20 Hz to 20 kHz) audio performance and high gain before feedback for detailed speech intelligibility. The 145 dB of dynamic range makes this mic well suited for loud vocal performances in houses of worship and on the musical stage. The mic's omnidirectional polar pattern offers enhanced plosive protection with no proximity effect for a natural sound.
All MM-PSM-s Short Boom Pro Series microphones are made in the USA.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. How can this be a shotgun? There is no visible diffraction grating along the sides of the case here. The manufacturer's spec sheet (at their website) shows a different case, with side walls gates to allow the classic shotgun interference effect.
A: The Audio-Technica AT875R truly is a shotgun microphone. The picture doesn't display the diffraction grating slots your asking about because of the way the item is displayed on the B&H webpage. They should of displayed more pictures at different angles. But there are four(4) diffraction grating slots... two on each side towards the front. You should know that this isn't the hightest quality shotgun microphone on the market, but for the price it's pretty much what you can expect. The sound quality is very professional. It rejects most sound arriving from the sides and completely rejects sound arriving from the rear. It does exactly what Audio-Technica stated. I use this microphone on my CANON XC15 camera with onboard Phantom Power. Hope this helps.
Q: 2. Hi,the link says it is a AT875 where as the kit detail mentions that the mic is AT875 R . Please confirm on the model number ? I am in market for AT875R and the kit seems econmical.
A: This kit includes the Audio-Technica AT875R Short Condenser Shotgun Microphone.
Q: 3. Would this microphone connect to the Zoom H1n? If so, how would it?
A: Technically you can, but it's kind of a long walk. You would need to connect the mic to a Phantom Power Supply, and then to the H1. You may want to consider a self-powered mic (one AA battery) and the correct cable: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1171344-REG/senal_mc24_el_professional_shotgun_microphone.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1221867-REG/kopul_xrsm_015b_xrsm_3_pin_xlr_female.html
Q: 4. What is the Optimal Pickup Range? looking to use it for interviews on set. I would have it over the talents head, out of frame
A: You should be able to place the Audio-Technica AT875R Short Shotgun Microphone about 3 to 5 feet overhead to capture clear audio, then adjust the distance to find the sweet spot, depending on how loud the people are speaking.
Q: 5. does this come with the foam windshield? or do I buy it separately?
A: Yes, and it's included. So far, I've had no problems with this mic and iOS.
Q: 6. how does it work with a zoom h6?
A: Plug it in and turn on the phantom power and bring up the level.
Q: 7. Does this come with a mic holder if I'm not using it with a shock mount?
A: There is a mic holder that comes with this that will screw onto standard mic stands. I've never used it as I've always had this used on a video camera, but I assume it will work ok.
Q: 8. I would like to connect AT875R to Line input in Canon 1Dx II camera, have I to add a phantom power module to run mic, and wich works properly? thanks
A: Yes you need Phantom power
Q: 9. Can this be used with the Beachtek DXA micro pro? Then I can record into my camera with the XLR on the preamp but does the clip that comes with it attach to the preamp? Or do I need some sort of adapter to make it attach to a cold shoe?
A: Yes, the AT875R microphone can be used with the Beachtek DXA-Micro-Pro to record audio into a camera. The DXA-Micro-Pro can be attached on top of the camera in the shoe mount or mounted below in the camera's tripod socket. The clip that is included with the microphone is used to attach the mic to a mic stand. If you want to attach the mic to the camera using a cold shoe mount, you should use a shockmount like the Auray DUSM-1 Universal Shockmount (B&H # AUDUSM1) or Rode SM3-R Camera Shoe Shockmount (B&H # ROSM3R). If you want to mount both the DXA-Micro-Pro and AT875R on top of the camera, that is also possible. The shockmounts mentioned above both have a 3/8" female thread on the bottom of the cold shoe. The male post on top of the DXA-Micro-Pro 1/4"-20. You can use a CAMVATE Cold Shoe Mount with 1/4"-20 Thread (B&H # CAC1347) to create a cold shoe on top of the DXA-Micro-Pro or use an Impact Female 1/4"-20 to Male 3/8"-16 Thread Adapter (B&H # IMCA109) to attach the shockmount by the female thread on the bottom.
Q: 10. attaching this to the Canon XA10 what cable do i need to purchase? Thanks!
A: If you are interested in mounting the 875R to the XA10, we recommend a short XLR cable. Kopul makes a variety of high quality cables. The 4000 is a premium cable and comes in coiled or straight.
