Shoot for longer and improve the ergonomics of your Nikon D850 DSLR with the BG-N19 Battery Grip from Vello. This accessory can hold an additional EN-EL15a battery to effectively double your shooting time, and offers a shutter-release button for easy vertical shooting as well as two command dials, AF-ON button, and Function button. The grip can also be used with an EN-EL18b battery when paired with the BL-5 cover (for up to 7 fps), or power the camera directly via AC with an EP-5B power supply connector and EH-5c adapter combination. It can even accept eight AA batteries when deployed with an alternate battery plate; just make sure to select the correct AA battery type in the D850's setup menu.

To install the grip, remove the contact protectors from both the grip and the camera and align the mounting screw with the D850's tripod socket. An attachment wheel helps ensure a secure fit, while the contact cover from the camera can be kept in a dedicated holder on the grip to prevent its loss. For use with a tripod or monopod, the BG-N19 offers a 1/4"-20 threaded slot at the bottom for easy mounting. Finally, a control lock switch next to the shutter-release locks all buttons on the grip to prevent accidental triggering.

I have only used it once and I have not used sequential shots but that is not an issue for my anyway. Works as advertised so far and the quality seems to be very good. All my controls work, no complaints. Oh, one minor one. The font size on the instruction sheet could be just a tad larger.

Compared to a authentic grip this is 95% of it. The 5% is a litle bit different consistency of the surface when touching, the subselector feels different a litle bit less solid and a 1% of the difference is in perception of the quality of the plastic. After two days I did not notice any of this an I am a happy camper. The functions as far as I see all there and the the same. Un less you are a Nikon snob, this is a good buy.

This grip provides all of the functionality of the Nikon grip. True, it has a very plastic sound when tapping on it, but it is as strong and rigid as the Nikon ones I have. The controls have a very similar feel to Nikon's. All in all, it does the same job for way less money.

This battery grip fits the Nikon D850 perfectly and works just as well as the Nikon battery grip. The construction may not be as robust, but for less than half the price I'm wiling to accept the differences. Besides who mistreats their Nikon camera.

Hard to find any faults with this lightweight and fully functional grip. Love the flexibility and I especially enjoyed saving all the money over the name-brand unit.

I had an original Nikon expensive grip on my D810, this Vello works just as good as far as I can tell. Nice and tight, no wobble, buttons all work and the price is right!
