I'm using these binoculars exclusively for stargazing. Stars and planets are wobbly when the binoculars are hand held, but when mounted on a monopod (or tripod) using a good ball head, the image is rock steady and beautiful. Images easily pop into focus. The 56mm objective lenses make for a much brighter image. Compared to my 10x42 Leica binoculars, deep sky objects are far easier to detect and are rendered with much greater detail. These are great binoculars at a reasonable price -- and you get a tripod adapter as a standard accessory. 5

While shopping for mid priced 15/56 binoculars, I narrowed the list down to four models: Zeiss Conquest HD, Nikon Monarch 5, Steiner HX, and Vortex Kaibab. I read all reviews and viewed all You-Tube videos I could find. Since I did not physically examine any of the binocular models, my decision to buy the Zeiss was subjective. I chose Zeiss because I already have the Zeiss 10/40 ABK's, which are excellent. I also have an array of Zeiss 35MM lenses which are all excellent. The Zeiss Conquest HD binoculars will not disappoint. I can see people in boats on S.F. Bay three miles away drinking beer. During twilight hours, I can see more clearly with the binoculars than with my telephoto lenses. Beautiful product. 5

I purchased these binoculars to use primarily for hunting. I have used them in a handful of different states and varying terrain and have zero complaints. They are built like a tank and the glass is exceptional, providing edge to edge clarity and great performance in low light conditions. The tripod adaptor that is included is great as well. I have used the binoculars on a tripod and a window mount. You could hand hold them as well, but if you want to get the best performance from them a tripod is a must. These bins are a game changer if you spend lots of time behind your optics! 5

The optics is Zeiss's excellent standard. It is very bright and the magnification is so good. The tripod adaptor is critical and when mounted, it is so comfortable to view with it for an extended period. The price to value is very good, it is something to keep forever... 5

They're really quite tremendous. I'm sure there is 'better' glass out there, but I'm also sure it's the classic case of rapidly diminishing returns. Waffled about 8x or 10x and went with the general recommendation of 8x- not disappointing. I expect these to last for years to come. 5
