This 55mm Tiffen Water White Glass NATural IRND Filter is a neutral density filter with a 128x filter factor that provides a 7-stop exposure reduction. Its 2.1 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. A: Unfortunately no, this filter will not work. Those filter systems require square or rectangular filters.

A: Yes, the water repellent works quite well when it comes cleaning the filter without leaving streaks,etc...,as well as not fogging up.

A: I was just now looking at the same subject shot with and without my Bower 52mm variable ND. And I didn't see the filter adding any softness at all. I'll do some more testing but I just don't see a problem at this point. Seems like a great value for 25 bucks. I suspect people may be shooting wide open, getting suboptimal sharpness, and blaming the filter.

A: The Sigma 95mm WR (Water Repellent) Circular Polarizer Filter would have the same effect on the lens at all focal lengths. While adding any optic in front of the optical formula of your lens will have some amount of effect to your lens' image quality, the Sigma 95mm WR (Water Repellent) Circular Polarizer Filter is a high-quality filter, and the benefit of its circular polarizing performance in reducing glare/flare from non-metallic items, increasing contrast/saturation, and deepening the blue hue in the sky (depending on your orientation to the sun) would mitigate any minor negative degradation you would obtain from using the filter on your lens.

A: The Bower 58mm Variable Neutral Density Filter has a 62mm front threading. If you want to stack another filter in the front it would need to be a 62mm filter. Alternatively you can put the other 58mm filter in bottom and this one on top. Always be careful to avoid vignetting when stacking filters.

Q: 10. Want to use on a canon ef 100-400 mm to photograph an eclipse. Will it fit/work?

A: Yes,your ND filter will work with solar eclipse. But, that is the least of your problems. If will give the impression that it reduces the light from the sun. It does for visible light, but does NOT reduce the permanent eye damage from UV, which will past through your ND filter as if you had no ND filter. If you do use it for solar eclipse, you MUST, to keep your vision, add add a CERTIFIED solar eclipse filter to stop the very damaging UV light.
