This 77mm Tiffen Water White Glass NATural IRND Filter is a neutral density filter with a 64x filter factor that provides a 6-stop exposure reduction. Its 1.8 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

A: There are no disadvantages on the Haida NanoPro Solar Neutral Density Filter (77mm, 20-Stop) when compared to those. The Haida is a great filter with high end coatings.

Q: 2. I've got 3 Canon lenses each with 67mm on the filter end. Does it make any sense to buy 77mm Eclipse filter and a step-up ring 67-77 (just to cover the range of lenses that I maybe will plan to buy someday) ? I'm very afraid I can get vignetting with this setup because I often shoot with wide-angle (10-18mm focal length, APS-C). Or maybe the right way is to take 67mm model of Eclipse?

A: I purchased one Eclipse Variable ND filter and step up rings to use with my Nikkor lensesand have found it to be a good choice. Vignetting is not a problem for me and I have been pleased with the results. Especially in motion film work.

A: When mounted on the Nikon 16-35 f/4 there does not appear to be any vignetting at 16mm.

A: The SmallRig 77mm MRC Variable ND Filter is not a green filter. It is a varible ND filter.

A: No you will need to purchase an 82mm cap.

A: There are no notches or clicks as you rotate the filter. Rotation is smooth. I haven't used the filter in a large number of instances yet, but other reviewers have spoken highly of the lack of color shift. It is a hunk of glass, well built and most likely worth the investment. I chose it as a middle cost point with satisfied users.

A: According to the manufacturer, the thumb screw on the the SmallRig 77mm MRC Variable ND Filter can be removed. However, SmallRig recommends not to use this filter with a lens hood.
