The Sigma 18-35mm T2 Cine High-Speed Zoom Lens with a Sony E-mount and with focus scales marked in feet provides an image circle that covers Super 35mm-sized sensors. It features a maximum T-stop of 2, and the aperture does not ramp over the zoom range. It shares common lens gear positions with the other lens in the Sigma High-Speed Zoom lineup, which makes for rapid lens changes. What sets these lenses apart from the standard Sigma High Speed Zooms is fully luminescent markings. When shooting in dim or dark environments, focus pullers and camera operators will be able to easily discern lens markings without resorting to distracting lamps or other disruptive light sources.

The 9-bladed iris provides round out-of-focus highlights for a natural-looking bokeh. The lens barrel features 180° of rotation from close focus to infinity, the zoom barrel rotates 160°, and the clickless iris ring features 60° of rotation. All three lens control rings are geared with cine-standard 0.8 Mod gears, and the focus scale is marked in feet. The front of the lens is 95mm in diameter with a removable 1/4"-20 support foot that helps support the lens with the aid of a 1/4"-20 rod-mounted lens support (not included).

All the lenses in the lineup are designed to comply with SIGMA's CCI standard simplifying when intercutting between lenses.

Sharing the same dustproof and splashproof construction as the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM|Sports, each ring and mount is sealed to prevent water and dust from entering.

The lens body is made completely of metal to stand up to the rigors of the production day.

The main lens markings are in luminous paint for easy visibility in low light situations. The intermediate markings are laser-engraved for durability. The focus and zoom markings are readable from either side of the lens.

The lens features a 95mm front diameter for compatibility with a wide variety of matte boxes and incorporates an 82mm front filter thread.

All three lens gears are standard 0.8 Mod and feature a damper that eliminates metallic sounds when you reach the end of the lens travel.

The lens includes a removable support foot.

This lens is out of this planet because There was never anything like it before. Tremendous versatility offered by Sigma three primes combines together.

This lens is by far one of the best of all time! It is like owning 3 prime lenses in one shell. Photos are sharp, with an amazing depth of field control and buttery smooth bokeh. This is an even better video lens. Smooth manual focus, maintains a constant 1.8T (True) aperture, auto focus is steady and transition smooth and quietly. This could easily be a $1500+ lens

Just lovely. The only I could wish for is OS. I would gladly pay double and carry the extra heft for a stabilized version of this beautiful glass. Oh, and I've heard people complain about the AF noise, but my copy at least is nearly silent compared to a Canon 17-55, a Sigma 18-50 OS, or the Sigma 50-150 OS.

I have used this lens in varying light conditions and am very pleased with the results. My photographs are sharp when used with both the Sony a77 and a77 ii.

Resulting handheld pictures taken in interior low light conditions are very good. This was the most important reason for purchasing a lens this fast.

I am not in the least disappointed in this lens.

I'm late to the party on this one, because my first Sigma lens dates back to 2009, and it really was a poor man's Canon... I was also more of a full-frame shooter throughout the early 2010s, mostly 5D II and III and Sony's A7S line. This lens obviously doesn't play to that sensor size.

Having shifted mostly to super 35 sensor cinema cameras (with the odd use of APS-H sized Canon 1D-C and 1D-X II), I picked this lens up, very curious as to its performance. I like wide angles a lot and love the creative possibilities of using those at low apertures. Up to that point my default lens was Canon's 24mm f1.4 prime, no slouch for sure, but a tad soft wide open, even in the center.

I am happy to report that not only does the 18-35 deliver, it works like gang-busters wide open, and is noticeably shaper at that aperture than other comparable lenses. It also feels a little bit less contrasty that the Canon prime, which is a bonus in my case. Things get very interesting at 18mm, with barely noticeable distorsion and the possibility to achieve pleasingly soft backgrounds. It's meant to work on APS-C sensors, so I didn't expect it to work on the 1D-C's 1.3 crop, but to be honest, the worst I experienced was slightly darkened corners at 18mm, and by 22mm, no trace of vignetting at all.

It's now the one I carry with me wherever I go.
