Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. am using cannon 5d mark3.. can i use this with mark 3 ?

A: No, the Canon RS-60E3 Remote Switch is not compatible with the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera. The Canon RS-60E3 Remote Switch uses the Canon E3 2.5 sub-miniphone input jack, and is not compatible with the N3 3-pin remote terminal on the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera. The Canon Remote Switch RS-80N3, B&H # CARS80N3, would be the correct remote control compatible with the Canon 5D Mark III DSLR camera.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with the Canon G16?

A: Yes, the Canon RS-60E3 Remote Switch would be compatible for use with the Canon PowerShot G16 Digital Camera.

Q: 3. Is this compatible for the EOS Rebel T6? I see so many similar models listed but not this one specifically

A: The Canon EOS Rebel T6 supports an EF/EF-S lens mount, so this lens is compatible with it. Note that this is a manual-focus lens.

Q: 4. Does it auto focus if half pressed?

A: Yes. It also will hold the shutter open as long as you need it in bulb mode, or fire of as many shots as you need in action mode, if you keep it depressed. It acts exactly the same as your shutter release button on the camera itself.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Canon Rebel EOS T1i?

A: I can't say for sure but I don't see why it wouldn't. Ilike the remote, especially for long exposures.

Q: 6. Compatible with 5D Mark II?

A: No, for the Canon 5D MKII you need the RS-80N3 remote switch.

Q: 7. does it come with instructions?

A: I'm sorry, no, it is simply plug and play. Push the shutter half way to focus then a full press to shoot.

Q: 8. I just purchased this remote in May. Stopped working today. This is probably a stupid question, but is there any kind of timeline that I should expect life from this unit?

A: Canon provides a 1-Year limited manufacturer warranty on their products, so that is the limit that they expect to provide coverage and support for the item. Otherwise there are too many potential factors involved in the lifetime of anything.

Q: 9. Does this remote work with the 80D?

A: Yes, this remote switch does work with the 80D. I took a leap of faith hoping that it would work, and sure enough, it did.

Q: 10. Will this work with the Canon M6 Mark11 Mirrorless?

A: Yes this will work with the Canon M6 Mark II.

I've bought after market in the past... the old saying you get what you pay for was correct. Should have bought Canon to begin with.

A remote is a must for those who use a tripod and telefoto lens. The remote is most pratical for those who use high magnification while shooting. Including long range shots and close up. It prevents you from shaking the camera. I have not had any durability issues with canon products.

Three things you must have to take razor sharp close up photo's; First is a solid tripod, second is a camera with the ability to lock up the mirror and third is a remote switch, commonly known as a cable release in the film world.

I have never used a Remote Switch before. I found it to be quite simple. Nothing fancy like the wireless type, but keeps the camera still when taking pics on a tripod.

Take the shake out and get Tack sharp pictures. My 9 year old loves to push the button

It works. I use it when camera is on a tripod to eliminate shaking that can occur when pressing the shuttter button.
