I have a new Sony a7R3 that I use with the 200-600 and was looking for an extra grip - it's quite a narrow camera and your pinky could use more support. The Sony GP-X1EM Grip Extension looked good but lacked a Quick Release socket for my strap. I would also get in the way of a Arca-Swiss plate for a tripod of monopod. When I wanting looking, this was the only thing that would fill all my requirements, and it works great as advertised. Fits the camera perfectly, QR release, Arca-Swiss plate and gives just enough extra room without feeling bulking at all, really just completes the lines of the camera body perfectly. Bonus, it also gives nice protection to the bottom of the camera while still letting you get to the battery for changing. Couldn't work any better.

I used a JB designs wooden grip with a similar form factor as this one on my previous camera, the A7rII. It added some style and functionality. This RRS grip however, takes the cake! It is understated, perfectly built, and with the dovetail built in, has really elevated function!

I wanted an option to charge via USBC and not need to haul the Sony charger on a trip coming up. I can already charge one battery in the camera via USBC, but keeping multiple batteries ready needed an option. I have 2 of these batteries now to augment my stock Sony Z100 batteries in my A7RV.

Similar battery life, similar weight, just a real nice feature of being able to charge on the go from a USB power brick, a car USB port, or really anywhere easily. Overall cheaper than the Sony batteries as well. I've run through multiple cycles on each battery so far and zero errors.

I'm still waiting for my bracket but I've been to RRS's web site and it is very clear one much remove the battery cover and attach it to the bracket. Their site makes it look very simple. You can also see on their site that there is a weather gasket built into the bracket.

I bought a $27 A9 bracket on ebay, from China and it is junk, the vertical bracket sits far forward on the body and blocks the port panel.

If you look at the RRS site and the photos of the bracket you will see/realize they put some serious engineering into this bracket; hence the price.

I have two of these running them in my A7iv. Best 3rd party battery I have found and I have tried a few. Slightly less battery life than a Sony and now with firmware updates we have the limitations Sony is putting on 3rd party batteries. You have spent $2500 on the camera body and a bunch more on lenses, is it worth the hassle to save $19 per battery. Seems silly and I would not buy 3rd party again just because it really doesn't make sense for $19.
