If my best friend asked me this question I would tell them to go ahead and buy your kit and use the phone with the case if thats what you want, as I do and wont take my phone out of the case and have never had to during film work with the PRO mount. It's important that the ball joint is properly supported since movement can cause a shift if not properly mounted.
