The 82mm Ice UV Filter is a general-use clear filter designed to absorb ultraviolet light and reduce the bluish cast of daylight. Aside from the reduction of unwanted blue casts, no additional coloration or contrast is created, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes eight layers of antireflection coating. This coating also offers protection to the filter substrate and helps it to stay clean for longer than uncoated filters.

The Ice UV filter is constructed from optical glass for increased clarity as well as color fidelity and features a slim aluminum alloy filter ring that helps prevent vignetting. It is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Such filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your front lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations in which scratching could occur.

A: While the Ice 82mm Magnetic Light Pollution Filter & Magnetic Adapter and the Freewell Magnetic Base Ring for VND Filters (82mm) are both magnetic filters, the Ice filters have not been tested on the Freewell magnetic base. Also, the Freewell filters and magnetic base are special order items not kept in our inventory, nor are on display in our NYC Superstore. We cannot test these items for compatibility. There is a possibility the items may be used with one another, but we have no confirmation on this.

A: The Ice 77mm UV/IR Cut Filter cuts out UV Rays below 390nm, and cuts out IR Rays above 750nm. The filter has 99.4% light transmission between 400-700nm.

A: I have a Nikon lens with a 52mm circumference. When I bought the filter, all it specified was the size of the ring, not what manufacturer it was made for. It is a GREAT filter, I use it on all my lenses, now (whatever sized the lens requires). My guess is it would fit if your lense mount is 52 mm. You might Google E-mount difference from Nikon filter mount and see what comes up.

Sony does manufacture the Sony VFA-49R1 49mm Filter Adapter, which is compatible with the original RX100 and RX100 II, but Sony states the adapter is not compatible with the RX100 III Digital camera, and does not list an alternative option on their website for your camera. I apologize for the inconvenience.
