Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Is the cell foam liner in the bottom of the F-3X removable (like it is in the F2)?
A: No it's not removable, it's sown in very securely. I can't see any reason to remove it, so this is fine.
Q: 2. Will the exterior back pocket fit an iPad?
A: I tried my iPad2 (in a hinged iPad case) and it would not fit. When I took the iPad2 out of the case, it barely fit. So, really the answer is no. An iPad mini fits fine and I've traveled with this setup, though I preferred to put the mini inside the bag.
Q: 3. Will this bag hold a D7500 with 18-300 lens attached? Rearrange the interior of course. Prefer the camera and lens lay horizontal in the bag. Maybe on one side but prefer not. Grab and go bag, used Domke before. Thanks.
A: Yes, you can fit the Nikkor AF-S DX 18-300mm lens mounted on the D7500 in the Domke F-6 Little Bit Smaller Bag (Black).
Q: 4. Is there foam on all the sides (not just the bottom) of the bag to protect the equipment inside?
A: There is foam only in the bottom of the bag. What this bag is about is functional access and light weight, I have used these bags for years always with hog end kit, and have never had any damaged equipment. This is the bag that made Domkes reputation. Canvas is better than nylon. Buy it for a full size slr with either 2 spare lens or 1 lens plus flash, you wont regret it. Extra front pocket for batteries etc also zipped pocket in flap.
Q: 5. How many buckle come with this shoulder belt ? 2 or 1. Picture showing only 1 I need two side for Domke next generation bag ( only 1.5 " wide ,Change to 2 inch wide shoulder straps much more secure to weight distribution on my bag.
A: It only comes with 1. We do not extra buckles.
Q: 6. Would this fit a Z9 with 24-120 attached and 300PF and other misc stuffs?
A: The Domke F-6 Little Bit Smaller Bag (Sand) could accommodate the Z9, the Z 24-120mm lens, and the 300mm f/4E PF ED VR lens, but not with a lens attached to the camera. There would almost no room left with those three items in the bag.
Q: 7. Will this bag hold dslr with 70-200 attached ?
A: Hi Randy,I purchase this bag from B & H about 2 months ago to hold my new Sony Alpha 7II with the 30-70mm lens attached, stored in the Sony camera case. That combination fits in the rear area of the bag. My Sony 24 - 270mm lens in a case, fits easily the front pocket. I put the Sony flash, in it's case, in one of the outside pockets. That leaves the two inside, left and right pockets free for smaller items and the lens shade for the larger lens. It also leaves the other outside pocket free to store my camera batteries, charger, cables and other small items, including camera and flash manuals. It is a very sturdy bag. Very! I like the fact that its shape and color don't scream high value photographic gear to steal . The shoulder strap is wide and adjustable, made of heavy, woven nylon (I assume) with very sturdy steel fasteners to attach it to the bag. Finally, there is a second, narrower, shorter strap included that is intended to be a handle. I use it on the hardware of the main cover/flap to extend the cover's closure. With that big lens inside, the cover doesn't quite meet its fastener loop on the front bottom of the bag. Finally, I was skeptical when I first received this bag that it would hold my camera, lenses, flash and smaller items, but it does. You just need to work it a bit and things eventually fit just fine. It's also worth noting that this bag has no lining or padding. None! That's why I store my camera and lenses in individual cases.
Q: 8. What is the maximum diameter of a lens that can be carried in the two interior side lens pockets?
A: You would be safe inserting a lens that has up to a 75mm diameter.
Q: 9. The specs list the interior dimensions as 8.5 x 5.5 x 9.0 but do not say which is height, width, and depth.Which dimension corresponds to the vertical height? That is, how much height would I have if I stick my camera lens-down in the case?
A: 9 inches high when measured on the out side; may 8.5 on the inside diluento padding on the bottom. The width, front to back, is 5.5. The side to side measurement is closer to 11 inches. For me, I should have purchase it years ago. I have a Olympus OM-2n, 50 and 35 primes and. 5.5 inch long zoom. MUSC in on pocket and a Panasonic DXC something in the other. Still room for flash or another body. Great purchase forr me to carry gear to a shoot and then tweak it for what I want to work with. Hangs nice and confirms to the body of not stuffed to the gills. The top flap allows for expanding the height. The buckle allows this. I really like the military grade canvas. Good luck on your decision.
Q: 10. will this fit a 70-200 lens attached?
A: I have a Canon 5d and a Canon 70-200 f4 lense. This attached combination fits when laid down horizontally. There is room next to the lens for my Fuji x100t. Standing the canon up vertically with the lens in one of the attached dividers works, but not that well. The camera body sticks up above the mouth of the bag about an inch. The lid of the bag can still cover it and fasten. I think the f2.8 version of this lens is about an inch longer and would not fit in either orientation. In general I like the F-3x bag. I use it for several different sets of equipment without any bag reconfiguration. ( medium format with 2 lenses, 5d with 2 lenses, 5d with 1 lens and x100t, etc)
