I bought this lens with hopes of getting my creative juicesflowing a bit more. It's an absolutely great lens.Distortion is expected-- it ain't a fisheye otherwise. Generally the lens is sharp and relatively fast focusing.Since it is not a fast lens, the focus may hunt a little inlow light. Also, there is some purple fringing in backlitsituations. Otherwise, I have it on for magazine assignmentsand random shooting. Expertise: P/T Pro Problems Encountered: The purple fringing is a noticeable at the 10mm range. Previous Equivalent Item Owned: 8mm of some sort Items I Recommend: A nice 17-55mm to compliment the range

I own a Canon Rebel Xti, so when looking for a fisheye i hadto make sure i bought the right one because of the 1.6 crop.Did some research and came up with about 3 differentfisheyes i should get, 2 of which were 8mm and then therewas the tokina fisheye. I figured i will probably upgrade toa different body in the future so i decided to get the10-17mm. Man did i make the right decision. The distortion is just what i was looking for, the picturequality is superb and the lens itself seems well built forwhat it cost. AF is fast, some people have said its not thatgreat but mine has been fast so far. being able to zoom fromsuper wide angle to fish is another plus for when i justwant to take a wide angle shot of some type of landscape.Honestly this is probably the best and most used lens i ownright now, if you need a fisheye i defiantly wouldrecommend this one! Problems Encountered: None Previous Equivalent Items Owned: N/a Items I Recommend: n/a

The build quality superior even to the Nikon or Canon lenses. Image quality equals to these too. If you need to buy a quality fish eye combined with wide angle this is the lens to go with. I have it for over a month now and I love it. Problems Encountered: None

I've had this lens for about 8 months, and I again am impressed with Tokina (I also own the 12-24 f/4). This lens is sharp at all apertures, and is just a wonderful lens for extreme wide angle shooting. From true diagonal fisheye at 10mm to a near rectilinear ultra-wide at 17mm, this is a very unique and versatile lens. Excellent color and contrast, and exceptional build quality (a hallmark of Tokina lenses.) There is chromatic abberation at high contrast edges from time to time, but I find it is completely correctable in postprocessing. I've used this lens for everything from interior architecture, unique portraits, group shots and landscapes. The lens focuses EXTREMELY close, so you can really accentuate size if you so desire. I love this lens.

I am the proud owner of this lens. I work as a photojournalist and strive to create images that show people things in a different way than they might normally see them. This lens has opened the door to some very creative photography. It allows me to sit in the front seat of a police car or airplane and shoot a full view of the driver/pilot. I truly love this lens! I was very pleased with the sharpness even to the edges. Problems Encountered: No problems at all. Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Nikon 10.5mm

I originally bought this lens for underwater photography. I have had a chance to dive with it yet but it comes highly recommended. Last couple of days I have been messing with it on land and its a very sweet fisheye.

This is an all around great fisheye lens. I had debated between this lens and the Nikon 10.5mm fisheye. I chose this one at the last minute due to the zoom. Your not stuck at a fixed focal length. I am not new to photography but I am new when it comes to using fisheye lenses. I am still learning and having a blast with this lens. It has some amount of CA (depending on focal length) which can easily be fixed in post processing. Personally that does not bother me. The build quality is excellent and you can tell due to the weight. This lens works well with my Nikon D7000. No regrets.

I own the 400D and I spent a reasonable amount of time searching for a fisheye suitable for the 1.6x cropped sensor and oh boy it was worth the long research. I was about to get the Sigma 8mm when I came across this fella. If you want a fun lens to play around and spice up boring pictures this is the one to get. Best fisheye for APS-C sensors EVER. Get this lens ASAP, you won't regret it :) Too bad there's not a single suitable filter for this one so you need to watch out those dirty or greasy fingers near the glass.
