Rosco Fluorescent Lighting Sleeves/Tube Guards are a very reliable and cost-effective system for easy control of tough lighting scenarios- especially under fluorescents. In addition to the financial benefits of the sleeves, they protect against the potential disaster of glass shattering by containing the lamp within the end caps.

Rosco sleeves are constructed of a solid polycarbonate tube within which is held the specific filter. The choice of filters and combination of filters is endless - there are complete Roscolux, Cinegel or E-Colour color filter lines - something for every venue, every photographer, every cinematographer.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use LED floods with this?

A: The light does not specifically say in its specifications it can or cannot use a screw in LED light. The fixture uses a lamp that is E26 Edison screw in bulb. It is a regular kind of screw in bulb. So technically if the led light does not need ballast or any electronics and has that all built in to the bulb you can use that fixture. Note that it has not been tested with that type of bulb.

Q: 2. What are the differences between the Quasar 7x and the Quasar 7x Plus?

A: The plus is threaded to accept 52mm diameter filters. The orange colored filter helps in spotting contamination on your sensor. I use the Hoya HMC 85B filter. It works great.

Q: 3. What is the minimum working height of the stand?

A: The minimum working height of the light stand that comes with the Impact Octa Fluorescent Kit (B&H # IMFFOF4Q) is 34".

Q: 4. How well does this work on the larger Nikon Z7 sensor?

A: This will work very well with the full-frame sensor on the Z7.

Q: 5. Can you use LED bulbs with this?

A: Unfortunately, no, you cannot use LED bulbs in the Impact Octa Fluorescent Kit. The Impact Octa Fluorescent Kit is specifically designed for spiral CFL fluorescent lamps up to 85W maximum. LED bulbs generally have a heatsink at its base, and 4 LED bulbs this close together might not fit and could cause heat issues. CFL bulbs also have two advantages, they have a wider beam angle so they can fill the soft box completely and produce softer diffused light.

Q: 6. can I use LED bulbs with this?

A: LED bulbs such as the Kino Flo KF55 True Match Screw-Base LED Bulb (120 VAC) B&H # KI08SK50L120 can fit in this socket. https://bhpho.to/2Cwlpdp

Q: 7. How is the overall construction?

A: Alright comes in a nice hard case I thnk it works good would buy another

Q: 8. Does this convert to monopole?

A: This tripod does not convert to a monopod.

Q: 9. I have the first generation Quasar 7x. Is this new version worth upgrading to?

A: The new version is worth the upgrade due to the addition of a 52mm front filter thread, in order to add filters for greater contrast or magnification when inspecting your sensor.

Q: 10. Will this work on the Canon 80D?

A: Yes, the VisibleDust Quasar Plus 7x Sensor Loupe will work on the Canon 80D.

I have found that the other positive reviews are correct. Works just fine on Sony E-mount systems. Now that I have one, it seems clear that the one negative reviewer was using the lens upside down.

On my Sony a7RII, I have to hold the loupe above the body until the dust comes into focus. This is easy enough to do and the built-in LEDs provide plenty of illumination. You have to remember that you are seeing the sensor inverted, so dust that appears on the upper-left is actually on the lower-right of the sensor.

Once I find the specks, I use the VisibleDust Arctic Butterfly 724 to gently remove it. It takes several passes, especially if there is a lot of dust.
