The black DPA 4061 CORE with Locking 3.5mm Adapter is a miniature, moisture-resistant lavalier microphone designed for use with wireless systems for broadcast, performance, and theatrical applications. The low-sensitivity electret-condenser capsule can handle loud vocalists, speakers, and performers and delivers crisp, clear, and intelligible audio, while the rugged yet unobtrusive design is well suited to the demands of professional live stage work and presentations.

This version of the 4061 uses DPA's CORE technology to deliver a 4 dB increase in dynamic range and a 14 dB reduction in noise over the 4061 Legacy model. The mic includes two interchangeable capsule-protection grids that alter the sonic character of the microphone. The High-Boost Grid creates a peak at 12 kHz, helpful for chest placement, while the Soft-Boost Grid offers a subtle boost between 8 to 20 kHz, lightly enhancing signal presence to ensure clarity.

With an SPL rating of 144 dB, the microphone is more than capable of handling loud speakers, vocalists, and presenters. The mic can also be used very effectively to capture instruments—making it a flexible tool for houses of worship and live event productions. The 4061 CORE is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless transmitter and features a modular design using a Microdot output connector. This version includes a locking 3.5mm adapter for use with wireless transmitters and recorders wired for Sennheiser compatibility.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with rode wireless go system?

A: The Sennheiser ME 4 Cardiod Lavalier Microphone has a locking 3.5mm TRS connector and the mic input on the RODE Wireless GO II transmitter uses a standard, non-locking 3.5mm connector, so the mic will connect, but it will not latch to the input on the transmitter for a completely secure connection.

Q: 2. I'm looking to upgrade the lav mic on my BH #SABLINK500P2, would this be compatible powerwise?

A: No, the Sennheiser ME 4 Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector is not compatible for use with the input on the transmitter for the Saramonic Blink 500 Pro B2 2-Person Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System. The ME 4 has a locking connector and the transmitter has a standard non-locking input. The power rating is not the problem - the locking connector on the mic is the problem.

Q: 3. Do these come with the metal clips and space brackets? If not, which clip/brackets are compatible?

A: Yes, the DPA Microphones Clear Concealer Top for d:screet 4060/61/62/63/71 does include the metal clip and space brackets. I confirmed this information with DPA.

Q: 4. Will this mic work with Sennheiser AVX-ME2 SET?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser ME 4 Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector (Black) can be used with the Sennheiser AVX-ME2 SET wireless system.

Q: 5. Can I use this with microdot adapter that supplies 5-8v? Is that too high for this mic, given stated 2.5-3.3VDC requirement?

A: Yes, the Deity Microphones W.Lav Pro Omni Lavalier Microphone can be used with a Microdot adapter, however, the voltage is supplied by the device that the mic is connected to, not by the adapter itself, unless the adapter has a power supply. For example, the W.Lav Pro can be used with the Deity Microphones DA35 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter (B&H # DEDA35) for connection to a wireless transmitter like the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter, which will supply 3V DC to the mic through the input. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat if you would like assistance to select the appropriate adapter for your application.

Q: 6. what is the clip that the man in video used to hold the mic onto his cloth?

A: In the video, the DPA Microphones 4097 CORE Micro Shotgun Microphone is attached to a boompole at first, and then it looks like he had clipped the mic and mini boom to his clothing using a clip like the DPA Microphones CM4099 - Clamp Mount for 4099 Instrument Microphone (B&H # DPCM4099).

Q: 7. What is the Signal to Noise Ratio?

A: The manufacturer has not provided a specification for the signal to noise ratio of the Sennheiser ME 4 Cardioid Lavalier Microphone, but they have provided the equivalent noise level (self noise), which is rated at 31 dB.

Q: 8. This article includes the Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Sennheiser/trs Adapter? Thanks Renzo.

A: No, the Deity Microphones W.Lav Pro Omni Lavalier Microphone does not come with the Deity Microphones DA35 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter for Sennheiser transmitters; however, the adapter is included with the Deity Microphones W.Lav DA35 Bundle Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter (B&H # DEWLAVD35).

Q: 9. Do these concealers have a back that snaps on?

A: thank you for your question. this unit is just the top portion of the concealer without a backing.

Q: 10. Would this work on a Zoom F2?

A: Yes, the Deity W.Lav Pro Lavalier Microphone can be connected to a Zoom F2 Field Recorder using a Microdot to locking 3.5mm TRS adapter wired for compatibility with Sennheiser wireless transmitters (not Sony, as the internal wiring is different) such as the Deity Microphones DA35 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter - Black (B&H # DEDA3S) or the DPA Microphones DAD6034 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Sennheiser Adapter (B&H # DPDAD6034).

I used the system for interviews and it worked great. The sound was crystal clear and there were no breaks in what the mic picked up. The one thing that was wrong with it was that it picked up background sound when it wasn't supposed to be able to do that.

I got incredibly clear audio with no static. It is also incredibly simple to use, and not needing to use dangly XLR cords was highly appreciated. The battery life is long, too. Get them!

I currently use this product to make videos on my Nikon D5100. The audio I get is so clear and the kit is top notch. Don't expect anything less as Sennheiser is a well respected brand with the products to back it up. The transponder and receiver are paired very easily and straightforward. It has an adapter from the receiver so that you can use it with the normal microphone jacks on lower end cameras. You don't need an XLR capable camera to use this. Regarding the price, you get what you pay for with this high quality product. For person serious with making video that has clear audio, I would recommend this. Great for interviews or just anything in general that requires talking on camera. No wires is a plus!

I thought it would be less Sennheiseristic since it's wireless, but I could feel the Orpheus and IE 800 from this beautiful audio device

Let's get this out of the way first. The Sennheiser AVX digital wireless system is not cheap. Coming in at a whopping $$base model, fortunately Sennheiser sent it out to me for review; otherwise, I would not have had the pleasure of using it.First and foremost, Sennheiser's AVX system is a true 'plug-and-play' option for audio. You literally plug this thing in, power it on, pair the modules (first time only, because they remember each other after the first power up), and start recording. It's amazing! The AVX auto adjust gain controls of its 24bit, 48Hz audio signal (which is also AES 256-bit encrypted) allowing it to normalize for changing sound environments. You do not need to worry about gain controls or any of that craziness when you're using the AVX. The other really crazy thing about this system is its distance. If you want to see a demo of the distance this thing has you can check out the video review I did on this thing here (if B&H allows you to view it): https://youtu.be/BpQuI1JxeoANow if you're a seasoned audio professional, or you just understand audio and how to capture the good stuff, then you're going to have to live with how automated this system really is. There is no adjustment of the audio signal bitrate or quality. It's set at 48Hz with a 24-bit depth and that's what you get. So be very aware of this limitation if you're someone that likes to have control of setting adjustments.

I used the AVX Microphone for a small movie project and it is a very good audio capture device. At many times we had the microphone a yard or two away and it still picked up all the dialogue very clearly. There was very little white noise and no crackling or popping...
