The narrow profile of the Small Half Dome with Silver Interior for strobe lights from Photoflex is designed with a silver interior for videographers and photographers who use hot lights. The softbox can also be used for strobe lights. The recessed front face permits optional grids that narrow and direct the output and control spill light. A removable strip mask is included with each HalfDome to narrow it further.

The HalfDome is an ideal choice as a hairlight for group portraits or for elegant, elongated catchlights in product photography. It's also a space saver when shooting in tight spaces and easy to shoot over when used as a foreground light. A speedring for your brand of strobe is available separately.

A: The front panel and the inner baffle are about 1 stop each of light loss.Chimera speedrings will work but that is about it. Note that this softbox has been discontinued.

I use this product mainly for hair light and separation light. I have always used Photoflex and like them very well. This is an extremely easy softbox to set up and tear down with easy storage. 5

Photoflex makes very high quality products. What I really like is that they combine quality materials with great engineering and design. The only slight issue I have is that they had to make the box wider than the older ones because of the larger octo adaptor ring. They compensate by providing a black mask to narrow the size. I still give it a 5 5
