Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are there only the two leg angles?

A: I am not sure of your question. There are pull out angle blocks at the top of each leg. When you pull these out the legs will completely flip up to cover center column. By raising the center column and flipping the legs over the column it will reduce the length of the tripod for traveling. But after seeing some tripod photos on B&H I how understand your question, and yes there are only two legs angles available to you.

Q: 2. Will a Manfrotto 324RC2 ball head with 200PL-14 quick release plate, work on this tripod?

A: Sorry, I have no idea. I would imagine so...

Q: 3. What is the point of the drag control knob when the head locking knob seems to control drag as well, and both need to be unlocked to rotate the head?

A: The drag control allows you to easily move the head while keeping it steady, this can be very useful if you don't have a gimble head and want to use it for tracking birds in flight.

Q: 4. What is the maximum length of the monopod?

A: The total length of the of the monopod is approximately 67".

Q: 5. Will this tripod and head assembly be able support my Pentax 645z?

A: Spec says Otis goodto25.6 lbs. Generally, I cut that in half. Have not much experience with ours, but a Impressed with the overall quality. Think you will find this a good one.

Q: 6. I have a Canon 5D Mark 2. Will this tripod support it? Also is there a L Bracket that can be used with this tripod? or will it need another type of ball head to use one? Sorry, i am a total newbie to more professional tripods. thankyou

A: Yes, it will support it well. The tripod has an Arca-Swiss type ballhead/clamp, so any L-bracket that is Arca-Swiss compatible will work.

Q: 7. Can you Remove the ball head and swap with something else? is so, how big is the screw?

A: Yes, you can remove the ball head, the screw is a standard 5/8

Q: 8. is the central column removable?

I was looking for a tripod which I could carry on my travels and I think this is a good option. It is easy to transport and set up, with a good ball head. Light and portable, you can carry it on a backpack.

This tripod is AWESOME! Really well built and sturdy. Just got back from hunting in the David Mountains and this held up well in the rain and in 30 MPH winds. So easy to maneuver as well. Glad I purchsed!

I found this tripod awesomely light, easy to travel with and relatively easy to set up. That being said, it would be nice to have an instruction manual that comes with the tripod, because packing it up has to be done a specific way to get it to fit in the carrying case that comes with the tripod. This tripod is worth every penny. I have used it indoors and outdoors and am very happy with it.

I needed to replace my older tripod to handle my larger lense and camera system. This is lightweight enough for me to pack around..I am elderly and use a cane/walking stick out in the field. I can easily navigate with camera bag and tripod in tote.

I have an Manfrotto Tripod. It is a good solid, reliable tripod. BUT it is heavy and my leg was black and blue after carrying it all day. So I went shopping for a lighter and just as reliable tripod. Old tripod is aluminum, new tripod is carbon fiber. I call B&H, and the sales/support person was very helpful. After reviewing my criteria (light and reliable) and my camera equipment for weight, he strongly recommended this GlobeTrotter by MeFOTO. Ordered it on Sunday, shipped on Monday and received it on Tuesday. What to love -- 3.7 lbs versus 6.7 lbs. And folds to 16.5 inches versus just under 30 inches. Much easier to travel with and not a fatiguing to carry. My first tripod will still be used when I want a rock solid tripod but do not need to carry it far. The new tripod will be used when I want light and 95% as rock solid. I am very glad to have purchased this tripod.

Have just used this tripod for photographing birds with a D810 and a large 600mm telephoto lens. This is lightweight, easy to use, and just perfect for this heavy combination. I cannot think of any cons and can move the lens and camera around and quickly photograph moving targets!
