I kept hearing that it makes sense to purchase a good tripod but had been using a travel tripod. Just yesterday was my first outing with the new Sirui and I now understand what it is like to have a good tripod. It was wonderful. My camera was rock solid. Wonderful!

After doing lots of research like everyone else I decided on this tripod. Why? It has more features and just as good as quality as the really expensive tripods. I am going to use for Family shoots and Landscapes. I may have been able to go with the next step down the 2204 series but I want the height that this one had. This thing is extremely solid and will handle anything you can throw at it so if you are looking for a light strong tripod this is it.

Purchased from B&H in 2013 I have used it in a wide variety and some harsh conditions. It's held up great and I highly recommend it. Removable leg very handy as monopod.

I ran a couple of quick tests between the Manfrotto 057 and a RRS TVC-34L where I shot a 2 sec exposure with a 135 f/2 lens on a Canon 5DS R during the exposure I vibrated the tripods to simulate windy conditions. Both tripods were extended fully with with the center columns also fully extended. The Manfrotto produced noticable less motion blur every time. I repeated the test 4 or 5 times, because the RRS is so dang fancy I thought it had to beat the clunky Manfrotto. For the work I do (architecture and product) I am in love with this tripod. It's a beast, but it goes high and produces sharp photos in the toughest conditions that I find myself in: fully extended center column in windy conditions. I also LOVE the clips. I find them much faster to adjust than the twist locks. As I am constantly moving and adjusting the tripod during my shoots this is important to me - may not matter to some. If you need something lightweight, look elsewhere...

Great for a high hat/car rig situation

Stable light tripod. Locks on legs take only half turn to lock or unlock. Last section of legs has markings which help setting up for leveling or always getting back to my preferred height I have several products from Sirui, including their gimbal head, and find the finish and quality to topnotch. I have Gitzo tripods and heads and find Sirui just as good in finish, quality but better in features such as the half turn locks and measure markings on the legs.

Very good tripod. Stable and sturdy: I feel comfortable my camera and lens won't fall over from lack of support. Easy to use, open and close. Have had no problems with over opening any of the legs. Light enough to carry. Quality purchase and should last forever.

As other reviews have pointed out, this tripod is heavier than other carbon fiber tripods. However, it is very manageable for the size, but not something I would take hiking up the mountains. I purchased the Manfrotto MBAG100 and it fits this tripod perfectly with my 3 way pan and tilt head attached. You also get a 10 year warranty with this tripod, so with proper care this will last me quite a while.

If you're a professional and love the flip locks and need the height, this is the stable tripod you want.
