Q: 1. Can you use this to record vmail greeting on your iPhone directly into the native iOS Phone app?

A: The Zoom iQ6 Stereo X/Y Microphone for iOS Devices with Lightning Connector can be used with a wide variety of video/audio recording applications, but it will not work with your default phone app. iOS requires a Bluetooth or TRRS connection for phone calls or other functions of the phone app.

Q: 2. Can the microphone be flipped in the opposite direction so that the back cameras of the iphone can be used?

A: Yes, the RODE VideoMic Me-L Directional Microphone for iOS Devices can be positioned in either direction.

Q: 3. Does this mic have a 3.5mm plug for monitoring audio?

A: No, the Saramonic SmartMic5 Di does not have an analog headphone output.

Q: 4. How much space will I need to record an hour and a half using Wav format?

A: If you use this 32GB card you will have more than enough time. B&H # SAESD32GBV3G that is the B&H part number.

Q: 5. How much recording time will I get if I plug it into an iphone 6 that has been charged to 100%?

A: Depends on what you have on your phone, how many apps sucking the battery in the background. But best case scenario, iPhone 6Plus, newly set up with no apps, on airplane mode, about 6-8 hours.

Q: 6. Will this microphone work with video conference calls like the Zoom App?

A: Yes, the Zoom iQ6 Stereo X/Y Microphone for iOS Devices with Lightning Connector can serve as the audio source for Zoom calls when connected to an iOS device.

Q: 7. Hey can we use this mic with a mirrorless camera using trs cable ???

A: It is not possible to use this mic (Rode VideoMic Me-L Directional Microphone for iOS Devices), with a camera. This Rode Mic will work: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1183909-REG/rode_videomicro_compact_on_camera.html

Q: 8. I need to point this mic at a subject while recording video on a phone. How is that done as it looks like it points toward the floor if one were to record video. Is there an adapter available? Or how can the mic be pointed at subject?

A: The iQ6 is designed to be used with audio recording apps. Unfortunately there is no adapter that is available that will allow you to relocate the microphone.

Q: 9. Will this tripod help with stabilization for walking shots?

A: The Rode Vlogger Kit iOS Edition Filmmaking Kit for Mobile Devices with Lightning Ports BH #ROVLOGVMML will offer more handheld stability when the folding mini tripod is used as a grip handle.

Q: 10. Which mic would you recommend this one the iQ6 or the iQ7 if i want to record youtube and fitness videos where I am speaking about 5 feet away from the iphone and mic? i was considering a the BOYA wireless mic but would rather not have anything on me

A: Both mics will give you a high quality recording, so you can't go wrong with either mic, but the iQ7 is more versatile. The mid-side capsules on the iQ7 rotate and can be adjusted for stereo recording at 90 or 120 degrees and you can adjust the width of the stereo field. The stereo audio is also fully mono compatible. The iQ6 offers X/Y stereo recording at 90 or 120 degrees which will capture a narrow or wider stereo field. The stereo audio recorded with the iQ6 is not mono compatible, which may not matter for your needs. Because of the flexible options for positioning the capsules and the options for adjusting the width of the field, as well as the mono compatibility, I would recommend the iQ7.
