This thing rips! I am editing 8k in Resolve off 8tb hard drives and I am just so happy! Very easy setup and so convenient. The only thing I can't figure out is if there is a way to turn off the light ring around the bays. It is kind of annoying seeing it flash every time the drive is running.

This is my second unit. For those of you contemplating a completely separate CPU to carry your samples, consider one or two of these stuffed with 4GB SSD drives instead. So one unit would give you access to 16TB of data (4x4TB). You can rig these so two drives use one USB-C (Thunderbolt) cable, or so that all four drives use the same cable (Thunderbolt 3 or 4 on Mac, and don't use cheap cables). Much less hassle and less expensive than a second PC or Mac; no maintenance; and super fast loading of samples in real time at 10Gb/sec. Using matching drives will always give you more predictable results, naturally. A perfect setup! And B&H was the friendliest place to buy this!

This is my third MultiDock; I want one by every computer.

I use my MultiDocks for secondary storage, for Carbon Copy Cloner MacOS backups, and for easily moving SSD drives between my two residences. Nothing beats a bare drive toaster.

The newest USB-C models are actually slower than the previous Thunderbolt models, which now require cable adapters. It is nevertheless fast, and convenience not speed is the key factor for me. The MultiDock pays for itself with the savings from buying bare SSD drives, and lets four drives share a single cable.

Note that the MultiDock ships without power or USB-C cables. High-end mountain bikes ship without pedals. I laugh when people complain about this; they're just revealing that they're not serious. I love that I could use cables on hand of exactly the needed length for my setup; I hate cable clutter.
