The 34" Shaper for 6 x 7' HiLite Softbox from Manfrotto is an accessory designed to determine the form and amount of light from the softbox that illuminates the subject. Its black fabric hangs from a collapsible pole at the top of the HiLite and allows it to cover the entire length of the softbox. Use of the 34" wide shaper creates a narrower 38 x 72" light source for selective lighting. Another option is positioning the shaper in the center of the HiLite and illuminating the subject from the side as they are positioned in front the shaper. This, in effect, allows you to light the subject from the front and back simultaneously from one light source.

A: these yellow from heat. molecular change. it doesn't wash off.

A: To use the green screen most effectively, it would need to be lit independently from the subject.

Q: 4. How challenging is it to control wrinkles with this backdrop over the 6'x7' HiLite?

A: The cover stretches taught over the frame on the Hilite. If you check the video in the overview tab at the bottom of the page you will see what it looks like after you do. If you run into creases they can generally be easily released with a clothing steamer.

Q: 5. I heard from someone that this background is opaque. I also read on your site that there is no need to relight the background, leading me to believe that the lighting from behind it will light it evenly and sufficiently. Please shed light on this contradiction...?

A: The HiLite Bottletop Cover is a cover that fits over the Hilite and is not translucent. Lastolites site recommends to not light it from behind so front lighting will be needed.

A: I don't know the actual weight, but I can say that they are light weight, fold up and easy to carry

A: This particular product is to add an additional portion for a subject to be placed on when using the Lastolite HiLite. A vinyl background like the Savage Infinity Vinyl Background (8 x 20', White) B&H # SABGIV820W, would come pre-rolled onto a cardboard core and can be used with any background support more easily.

A: the velcro is only on the short side

A: speed light will add color to the background but in order to illuminate the background more power in need. I would suggest a strobe unit of a least 500 watts in order to do so properly.
