Styled in a special edition white finish, the iLoud Micro Monitors by IK Multimedia comprise a pair of Bluetooth-powered studio-quality speakers in an exceedingly compact frame. Although they are designed to accommodate most iOS and Android devices through Bluetooth, they can also be sounded via a built-in 3.5mm auxiliary input or a pair of unbalanced RCA inputs.

The monitors themselves are comprised of two 3/4" tweeters and two 3" woofers (one tweeter and one woofer per monitor) and are augmented by an onboard 56-bit DSP processor designed to ensure a linear frequency response. On the rear panel of the left monitor, you'll find a three-band EQ section. This allows you to tune both speakers to any given listening environment. Due to the size, portability, and tuning options of these speakers, they will suit many different listening environments.

A: The most recent ETA for these speakers is June 15th, so it is likely, but not guaranteed.

Q: 2. Can a dj-style mixer be connected directly to these monitors? Do they need an amplifier or DSP in between? I was thinking about using these for my small home sound system. I have a turntable and a CD player connected to a mixer, which currently feeds into an enormous old Pioneer Digital Signal Processor unit (that gets pretty hot), and I have big old passive event-sized speakers connected to the DSP. I would like to replace the giant speakers with something smaller that will sound good for the space, and I'd *like* to eliminate the DSP unit if possible. But I can't tell from the product info here or on the manufacturer's website if I'm thinking about this correctly or not.

A: These speakers can be connected directly to the outputs of a dj mixer via the two TRS 1/4'' jacks, or the rca inputs on the back. These can also be connected to a DSP units outputs in the same way. Please note, these speakers are already powered by a built in amp, and can not take a connection from a speaker amplifier.

Q: 3. When not being used as studio monitors, is it OK to use these speakers as computer speakers hooked up to the headphone out of an iMac with a 3.5mm stereo to a Y XLR to the speakers?

A: These are not PA speakers and not intended to be used in a live situation. They are studio monitors and are designed to be used in a production studio.

A: The IK Multimedia iLoud MTM High Resolution Compact Studio Monitor is not inherently subject to self noise while powered on with no audio signal present.

A: The IK Multimedia iLoud Micro Monitors has one (1) input to be able to either take audio from the stereo RCA input or the 1/8” TRS input. It is not possible to internally switch between these sources, so you would need to manually connect whichever source you want to use.
