The Ruggard Portable Dry Case helps protect your equipment, such as lenses, photographic and optical equipment, and mobile electronics from dirt, dust, and moisture. It's a portable, weather-sealed option where you can store valuables while on location.

The included Renewable Dehumidifier draws away excessive moisture from stored gear. It's a small, hand-sized unit that fits in most sealed cases and works without power. This dehumidifier is useful for storing gear in conditions such as tropical locales or rain forests.

The status window and color guide on the Renewable Dehumidifier show you when it's full of moisture, and when it's ready to use. The blue crystals indicate the dehumidifier is ready for use, pink crystals indicate it needs to be recharged by plugging into a standard wall outlet.

The hygrometer measures the water vapor inside the case and displays a range of relative humidity levels. It takes the guesswork out of knowing when to open the case to avoid prematurely exposing the internal air to external moisture.

As the relative humidity level decreases, the internal pressure of the case may increase and make the case hard to open. An air valve equalizes the inside pressure so the case can open normally.

A: Unfortunately, the Ruggard Portable Dry Case with Dehumidifier (Black, 22.4L) does not include an insert or dividers.

Q: 5. Is there any problem with having the lens in a 5% humidity environment?

A: 5% humidity should pose no issue for a lens. You, on the other hand, should stay hydrated.

Q: 6. About how long does a charge last in a humid place like Florida in an 8L or smaller box opening it once a week?

A: A charge would last about 3 weeks.

Q: 7. Does this product have battery inside?

A: Yes, it has a built-in rechargeable battery. It can also be operated when plugged into the wall directly.

Q: 8. I refrigerate and freeze film, would this dehumidifier work to reduce the humidity in the container holding the film?

A: The Ruggard Renewable Dehumidifier will reduce the humidity in the container holding the film in the refrigerator or freezer.

Q: 9. What volume of space will this dehumidify?

A: Although there is no exact space defined by the manufacturer, this would work in all Pelican style cases as well as a supplement in something like a dry cabinet.

Q: 10. I noticed today after recharging that both of mine have little bits of ?? falling out when I shook them lightly. What is this??

A: The Ruggard Renewable Dehumidifier has Silica Gel inside. It's the Silica Gel that's falling out when shaken lightly and it's normal.

I have been using these for years and am pleased with them. They take about four hours to renew, longer as they get older. They keep their charge well in air tight cases. I have a few in file cabinet drawers which of course are not air tight, so those get charged weekly, the others more like monthly. I did have one that had the heating element fail, but but the other six have been just fine.

For me, this is the best dehumidifier as it recharges quickly and is a must have tool for your equipment. I've got three and cannot recommend enough.

I love these for keeping my pelican cases with gear dry, they are super convenient and do their job well. I find myself repeatably purchasing more of these because I keep finding things I want to keep dry.

Love these little dehumidifiers and have them in various camera bags. The caveat is they need recharged every ten days or so. Plug them in for a few hours, and they're ready to use again.
