Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this fit an Olympus E-M10 Mark iii ????

A: No, this will not fit the new Olympus EM10 Mark iii.

Q: 2. Does this fit the Olympus om-d-em10 mark 4?

A: No, the FotodioX Deluxe Metal Camera Hand Grip for Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III does not fit the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 3. Does the viewfinder appear much smaller than the M10-III??? Specs say "viewfinder magnification" on the M10-IV is 0.67x. (M10-III specs say 1.23x.)

A: Magnification indicates how big the viewfinder image is compared to the size of the sensor. So even though the Mark IV will have a much lower magnification factor than the Mark III, the actual viewfinder image will be noticably bigger.

Q: 4. The Memory Card suggested is a Type II Card. Specifically, a UHS-II / V90 / U3 / Class 10. A SanDisk 128GB card of this type costs $164.99. Is this what I need? And have any actual users of this camera tried a Type 1 Card that otherwise matches the specs? (i.e. UHS-I / V90 / U3 / Class 10) Thank you for your answers!

A: To shoot 4k video you need to use a V90 card that is UHS-II. The memory card port in the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is made for UHS-II. Using a UHS-1 card will work for shooting still photos but will be slow.

Q: 5. Is it possible to get a Rosewood Wooden Grip with Cherry finish like the E-M10iii?

A: Unfortunately we do not sell a rosewood or wooden style grip that fits the EM5 mark 2.

Q: 6. Can you tell how much the grip sticks out of the camera (forward)? I was told 1 inch by fotodiox customer service. Looking at pictures that seems to be overstated.

A: The grip sticks out one inch.

Q: 7. Mark III compatible? Ad does not specify which version(s) of the EM5 this grip is for.

A: That's because it's meant for the original OM-D E-M5 (Mk I). This is not compatible with the Mk III. At this time, FotodioX does not have an option for the OM-D E-M5 Mk III.

Q: 8. does this come with the battery ?

A: Yes an Olympus BLS-50 battery is included.

Q: 9. Does this grip fit the OMD EM5 II? Serial # BFKA48323?

A: You would need this version for the EM5 Mark 2: https://bhpho.to/2PJPL6O

Q: 10. Will this grip work on the "new" OM-D-M5 Mark 3 ?

A: According to FotodioX, they state that no, the FotodioX Pro Metal Hand Grip for Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II Camera would not be compatible for use with the newer Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III Mirrorless Digital Camera. At this time, they do not have an option designed for the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III.

My silver & black E-M10 IV is certainly a nifty and handsome camera,
but its svelte size and marginal grip can create some handling issues
for those of us with rather large mitts. This Fotodiox hand grip does a nice job of ameliorating that situation. The metal frame neatly
matches the contour of the camera, and the small wooden grip fits snugly against the camera's grip. While the smoothness of the rosewood is comfortable and looks good, it does provide less purchase than, say, a leatherette grip. If you walk around with camera in hand, I would strongly recommend a wrist strap for increased security. That said, the camera does feel more secure when holding it at my side, and I'm able to keep my right hand more relaxed because of it.

If you shoot primarily with dainty lenses such as the 25/1.8 and 42.5/1.7, maybe this grip spoils the slim package a bit. I mostly use my E-M10 IV with the 7-14/4 and Sigma 56/1.4 - neither of which is large for what they are, but there are probably a dozen smaller m4/3 lenses available.

My one significant quibble with the grip is I feel the edges should be machined a bit rounder. No issues for me, but I could see some folks being bothered by the almost-sharp edges.

Overall, this hand grip is a great addition to my E-M10 IV and slightly increases the pleasure of my photographic experience. Highly recommended.

Really improves the ergo on one of my favorite tiny M43 cameras. If you have a M-10 mark II this is a no brainer, by the time you navigated to this review it should already be in your cart. It increases the size of the body a little so it fits in your palm and gives just enough room for you to catch your pinky on the bottom of the camera. They've included a cut out to provide battery & memory card access. About the only thing I could think of that would have been nice is maybe they could have included a cold shoe on the bottom incase you want to use it for vlogging you could mount a mic or small light since the tilt screen flips up.

purchased to ensure extra grip & stability is available when using larger lenses. performs stellar & provides a great deal of assurance. single piece construction with minimal parts to worry about. additional weight is not perceived. texture of the grip is nice but I added some tape as I feel the finish is a bit too slick for my preference. I do wish there were a bit of a bevel around the opening for the door as this may make accessing the memory card a bit easier but I've developed a technique that allows me to extract the card without removing the grip.

Improves the handling of the m10 II and is not expensive compared to the OEM version.

I like that it's made of metal. Makes handling longer lenses just that much easier. Doesn't add any additional heft. The cutaway to the battery door is more than sufficient. That is unless you have big hands

While this is cheaper and lighter and the bottom is thinner than the Olympus version those are all pluses. The only slight negative is the Olympus version has a slightly bigger better feeling grip. But I modified this one with epoxy putty to form a bigger more positive grip and then finished it with a similar texture finish as the camera. Now I have a truly perfect grip that is still light and no additional bulk. It looks like it was made that way too. This is a 5 star product as is overall, but if they made the way I modified mine it would be a 10.

The grip adds a little weight to the camera and makes it easier to hold. It's well made, goes on easily, allows access to the battery and card, and has a tripod attachment
