This Powerbase EDGE Cable from Core SWX allows you to power select Sony a7 series cameras from the Core SWX Powerbase EDGE battery. The cable runs 6" long and features an NP-FW50 dummy battery on one end and barrel connector for the Powerbase EDGE on the other.

One of the limitations of the A7R II is the small size of the NP-FW50 batteries. The newer NP-FZ100 ( A7R III & A7R IV ) works well. I have paired, soldered both sides of this unit with an Edelkrone Sony NP-F Battery Bracket which will hold one or two NP-F 770, 970, or similar batteries. My test show a single NP-F770 will deliver 850 captures on the A7RII, and about 1,700 with two batteries. Changing individual batteries while shooting does not impact the shooting session. The Edelkrone Dual-Battery Bracket (Canon LP-E6) uses the Canon battery. There are dummy battery connections for both the A7R 3 and 4, so this method would extend your shooting especially during Time-Lapse or Astro photography. 5

I purchased two of these for my Edelkrone JibONE & HeadPLUS. I can use them for my all-night time-lapse sequence shots and still have battery power in the morning. 5

The BMPCC 6K uses the LP-E6 battery and it doesn't last long at all. I purchased this kit and it is perfect! It can run the camera for about 3-4 hours depending on what the camera is set to. This battery also has extra ports to power a few accessories. It can screw on to the bottom of the camera or cage and has a quick release button that makes it easier then attaching it to rails. It also a v-mount battery, so it can be used or charged with v-mount accessories. 5
