Alpine Astronomical Baader 1.8 Neutral Density Filter (1.25")

Use the Alpine Astronomical Baader 1.8 Neutral Density Filter to reduce the amount of light coming into your eye during lunar observation and improve the view and contrast. The lens surfaces are fully multi-coated with Phantom Group seven-layer optical coatings. This maximizes light transmission across the entire visual spectrum, stepping down the light throughput while maintaining color-neutral views without reflections, ghosting, or stray interference light.
Its housing is made to fit most 1.25" eyepieces and has female threads for stacking it with other ND and colored filters to further improve views when observing planets and other objects. This iteration of the ND filter line has an optical density of 1.8, with 1.0% transmission and a reduction factor of 64—making it ideal for viewing and photographing the moon as it moves toward full.
The filter can also improve solar viewing, but only as a secondary pre-filter stacked with a primary dedicated solar filter. Failure to use a dedicated solar filter may result in permanent eye damage up to and including blindness.

Q: 1. It says you can remove the smaller nosepiece to use the 2" barrel. But it changes the focal length. To what?
A: This is the only information being offered by Alpine Astronomical https://alpineastro.com/products/baader-13mm-hyperion-68-modular-eyepiece#description
Q: 2. How do you fit this eyepiece to the diagonal that comes standard with Celestron Nexstar 8SE?
A: It fits the Celestron 8se directly as long as you are not using the 2" Schmidt-Cassegrain Adapter.
Q: 3. Can I use the T-mount adapter shown in "Recimmended Accessories" to shoot through this eyepiece with my D-SLR? I already have one, and a Nikon F-mount adapter. Can I just screw it to the threads on the viewing end of the eyepiece, then attach my D-SLR via my Nikon adapter, or do I need to get a special connector?
A: You need this adapter to attach a T mount adapter, Alpine Astronomical Baader Hyperion M43/T-2 T-Adapter BH #ALHTA43T2 • MFR #HTA43/T2 https://bhpho.to/30q8Ltq
Q: 4. Is this a #8 Yellow?
A: No it is not. A Yellow #8 is typically used for an increase in contrast with black and white films. The Alpine Astronomical Baader Yellow Colored Bandpass Eyepiece Filter is centered on the 495nm wavelength suppresses the secondary blue spectrum when using achromatic and half-apochromatic refractor telescopes, increasing image sharpness.
Q: 5. how can I adapt the Baader U-Filter 2" to a Nikkor AF-S 50mm 1:1.8G Lens?
A: 2" is the outside diameter of the filter, not the thread. It's an M48 thread as stated on the manufacturer website, baader-planetarium. Use a normal step-up ring.
Q: 6. How can we adapt the 2" UV bandpass filter to a Sony E-mount 49mm lens?
A: I know of no adapter to mount a 2" (50.8mm) filter on to a 49mm opening. I do know some that use gaffing tape.
Q: 7. Would this lens Will this EP work effectively in a f/10 C5 scope?
A: Yes this Eyepiece would work with that Scope.
Q: 8. This zoom eyepiece is 3 times the price of Celestron's zoom. Is it worth that difference in cost?
A: It has much higher optical quality due to the -Phantom Coating Group Multi-Coatings and 7-Element/4-Group Flat-Field Lens Design
Q: 9. Can I use the Baader 76 degree Morpheus 4.5 mm eyepiece in the Celestron Regal M2 100ED spotting scope I have ordered from B&H?
A: It probably wont work properly because its too magnified. The Spotting scope is too short a focal length, I would recommend a 12 mm & higher.
Q: 10. I have a Fuji X-Pro3 and T-Adaptor (for Fuji). Do I need this B&H #ALHTA43T2 in order to connect to the Mark 4 zoom?
A: That is correct, the B&H #ALHTA43T2 adapter is necessary to attach to T Mounts.
