With its fast 1/4-second trigger speed and no-glow flash with a 150' range, the Reconyx HF2X Hyperfire 2 Trail Camera will make sure you see what (or who) is on the move in the woods. The camera shoots motion-triggered or timelapse 3MP still photos at up to two frames per second, and 720p video with sound. Using NiMH or li-ion batteries gives this camera a remarkably wide operating temperature range of -20°-120°F.

The Hyperfire 2 is made in the USA with no moving parts, in order to increase reliability and allow for totally silent operation in the field. It records images onto SD/SDHC memory cards up to 512GB in capacity. The camera runs on 12 user-supplied AA NiMH or lithium batteries, which are easy to find and replace. As an added bonus, it includes BuckView Advanced mapping and image management software for Windows. The weatherproof, olive drab green housing is compatible with a padlock and a Masterlock Python cable lock for security.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the difference between the HF2X and the HP2X?

A: The HF2x has all the specification that the HP2x does. The HP2X has more program capabilities in how it takes stills or video. It is the pro version, helpful for individuals doing wildlife research.

Q: 2. Are these wheels hard plastic? Or rubbery? If plastic, is it loud when you roll on pavement?

A: Wheels are hard rubber about 2 wide. Not noticeably loud when rolled on pavement.

Q: 3. Would this pelican case fit 3 x Arri T1 Lights?

A: Dont know those lights. It is a big case I carried backdrop stands and 3 light stands and some small lights

Q: 4. we intend to buy 10 large pelican transport units. Can you recomend a forwarder except of UPS FEDEX or DHL which are expensive and not built for international bulk. shipping destination is to Saigon Vietnam. thsnks

A: You may calculate your actual shipping options/order totals by adding the items you want to a shopping cart. It will then list the shipping options, descriptions, ETA's and fees to your location.

Q: 5. Can you stack Pelican cases model 1740?

A: Definitely yes, the Pelican 1740 cases are stackable. To keep them from sliding around, four rectangular depressions in the lid exterior mate with four rectangular feet on the case bottom (which are like skids), and are very robust and road worthy. The two transport rollers will not interfere with stacking because of their designed placement.

Q: 6. Would it be suitable to monitor a construction site and car license plates for theft ?

A: No it would not be a practical application because of too many mixed sounds. It would be more appropriate for a surveillance type of camera.

Q: 7. how many guns will it hold?

A: I use it for photo gear so I'm sorry I can't help you. That said it's a sturdy case for all sorts of equipment.

Q: 8. Is there a substantial amount of housing around where the cable lock would go? Or is it just a flimsy piece of plastic that one could easy cut through with a knife?

A: Yes it is substantial. Please see page 17 in the user manual for a visual example: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/642729.pdf

Q: 9. In the description it says it has three handles? Top Folding HandleTwo Side Folding Handle What's the difference between top folding handle and two side folding handles? Not having the handle in the middle is really a deal breaker for me. As it makes it very difficult to load in and out of vehicles.

A: There are handles at each small end and there are none in the middle. This is not a small case, so loading into a vehicle is always a little bit of a hassle. To load in a vehicle, I roll up to the vehicle on the wheels and lean the front end into the back and then lift the rear of the case and push it into the vehicle. Sort of like a stretcher.

Q: 10. Would this case fit 2 Arri AS2 light stands?

A: The Pelican 1740 cases has interior dimensions of 41 x 12.9 x 12.5 inches so it would easily fit more than 2 Arri AS2 light stands.
