Outfitted with a wide and useful focal length range that is ideal for all kinds of astronomical observation and astrophotography, the Alpine Astronomical Baader Hyperion 8-24mm Mark IV Zoom Eyepiece will be an invaluable addition to your telescope kit.

Its performance starts with a 7-element/4-group flat-field lens design that is treated with Phantom Coating Group multi-coatings. These features work together to deliver clear and bright high-contrast views with edge-to-edge sharpness without distortion or astigmatism. A simple rotating selection system allows users to run through the focal length range with positive click-stops at each setting, and for ease-of-use the eyepiece is parfocal so there will be little to no need to refocus when moving from one focal length to the next.

The Mark IV has been engineered for use on a wide variety of gear and comes with nosepieces to fit standard 1.25" drawtubes and accessories with the option to swap it for a 2" nosepiece or an adapter to thread onto standard 2" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (SCT) visual backs. Removing the eyecup reveals M43 T-mount threads that accept optional accessories from their Astro T-2 modular system, including camera-specific T-rings for projection astrophotography techniques, and extension tubes. For comfortable viewing, the eyepiece comes with three interchangeable eyecups: a fold-down rubber version, a winged model, and a large twist-up adjustable option.

From the moon to the planets to deep sky objects, the Mark IV zoom eyepiece provides versatility that is easy to use.

A: Dear Qassem, Please contact our Technical Support Department, so a representative can speak to you and help to troubleshoot the issue which could be caused by a variety of different reasons such as optics in need of collimation, scope needing cool down, etc. You can reach our Technical Support Department by submitting a ticket at: https://www.celestron.com/pages/technical-support Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Q: 2. Are there t-threads behind the eyecup that a T-adapter can screw onto?

A: The Celestron 8-24mm Zoom Eyepiece (1.25") BH #CEEPZ824 • MFR #93230 has no T-threads.

Q: 3. Hi. Could I attach this to a Nikon D500? If so how can I do it? Thanks.

A: No, this cannot be attached to a DSLR

Q: 4. Does this filter block IR and UV?

A: The Alpine Astronomical Baader Green Colored Bandpass Eyepiece Filter (2") BH #ALFCFG2 • MFR #FCFG-2 does not block UV or IR rays.

Q: 5. Is it parfocal with other Alpine Hyperion eye pieces?

A: This is the only additional information B&H has on the Alpine Astronomical Baader 72° Hyperion 36mm Aspheric Eyepiece (1.25"/2") https://alpineastro.com/products/baader-36mm-hyperion-aspheric-2-eyepiece And yes to the compatibility with other eyepieces

A: With a 2X barlow correct

Q: 9. This zoom eyepiece is 3 times the price of Celestron's zoom. Is it worth that difference in cost?

A: It has much higher optical quality due to the -Phantom Coating Group Multi-Coatings and 7-Element/4-Group Flat-Field Lens Design

Bought it after a lot of research for my 6SE. It is wonderful and cheaper than buying separate eyepieces for a beginner like me. Great build and comes with a carrying module.

Been using it a couple nights now and am really pleased with the crisp clear images through most of the ranges. At 8-9mm, it is a little blurry but you can definitely still make out objects. Beyond that, everything is sharp and crisp.

Compared to more expensive zooms, it would probably have one less star. If you want to spend less than $, it is a very nice performing eyepiece and more than what I had expected. Good image quality and good contrast....well done Celestron!

No, it is not a Hyperon, but just about. When you kick in the $ it is way better. My only complaint, if I have to have one would be that it is not as smooth when turning the zoom ring. I guess my best testimonial would be, I bought 3. One for general use, 2 for bino.Get while you can, they will not be around long.

I use it with my NexStar 6SE and the quality is great. You would expect to lose a lot of quality the more you zoom in, although it's true that you lose some quality, it's not enough to complain about because you can easily adjust it. I'm still new to using this and so far I am not disappointed. Best bang for the buck for any zoom eyepiece. Plus, it's threaded which allows me to connect my DSLR which is a HUGE plus.

For terrestrial viewing, it's tough to beat; the angle of view available is just stunning at all points on the zoom range. The light loss for being a zoom is negligible. Clarity maybe suffers but only barely perceptibly -- magnification exceeds the resolving power of my scope.Know that the eye relief is or can be a consideration for glasses wearers. One review I saw points out that dropping a prime focal length eye piece when bumping up or down your magnification can be a bit heart-wrenching. This eyepiece can be a way to avoid that. Why are reading this? ...

A great eyepiece for the beginer astronomer. Very clear, it is so much more convenient to not have to change eye piece to get a greater magnification. The parafocal isn't perfect. Expect to have to adjust focus when changing magnification. I have a Celestron 130SLT Newtonian telescope. These types of telescope are limited by a short back focus (how far from the eye piece the image can be focused). That makes it almost impossible to attach a SLR camera directly to them and get a clear focus. This zoomable eye piece increases the back focus and is threaded for T-ring mount installation. Only the adjusting ring pivots so the camera stays still.
