Sigma's FF High Speed Prime Lenses combine the same high-quality optics and mechanics of their Global Vision still line in a cine-oriented design. This 14mm Sony E-Mount prime is the widest focal length of the series, offering full-frame sensor coverage, 6-8K resolution, and a T2 aperture in a relatively lightweight form; it is also available in Canon EF and PL mounts. A common 95mm front diameter and similar physical attributes across the lens line make it easier and quicker to mount lens accessories such as matte boxes, follow focuses, and lens control motors.

The 9-bladed iris produces pleasing out-of-focus bokeh effects and ghosting and flaring have been minimized. Color reproduction is standardized for easier color correction. Each lens in the range offers consistent lens gear positions and 180° of focus barrel rotation. The FF High-Speed Primes also feature a clickless iris with linear markings, dampeners on each gear ring for silent operation, industry-standard 0.8 module gear pitch, and engraved markings for durability. Select markings are done in luminous paint for easy visibility in low light.

To relieve stress on your camera's lens mount, a 1/4"-20 support foot is built into the dust- and water-resistant metal lens body. If you wish to fit your FF High-Speed Prime lens to a different camera, the Canon EF and Sony E mount versions can be converted from one to the other by an authorized Sigma service center (not available for PL mounts).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Sigma 28mm and 65mm fit this case as well?

A: The 65mm lens is about the same size as the 85mm an should work with the case. The 28mm would fit in one of the spaces reserved for the 20/24/35/50. The case was designed for the following kit of lenses. Sigma FF High-Speed 24, 35, 50, 85 & 135mm Prime Lens Bundle (EF Mount) BH #SICLK7EF

Q: 2. Does this come with a case?

A: Yes it does. The Sigma PMC-002 Hard Case for 5x FF High Speed Prime Cine Lenses is included with this kit.

Q: 3. Why does it say the kit has an 85mm but has a 135mm in the photo and no 85?

A: The kit has an 85mm lens and the group picture is incorrect.

Q: 4. What is the difference between the normal lens kit, and the kit that says fully luminous feet?

A: The Sigma 50-100mm T2 Fully Luminous High-Speed Zoom Lens (Canon EF, Feet) (BH# SI50100T2CE) is the version of the lens with markings that glow in the dark. The standard version has non glow-in-the-dark markings only. The only difference is the type of paint that is used for those markings.

Q: 5. IF I buy in EF mount, can I change it the PL later on? How much would the switch be?

A: I believe not

Q: 6. Love this lens but the ARRI LMB 4x5 mattebox 95mm clamp on adapter ring doesn’t cover the gaps on left and right side. In other words, because the lens hood has the cut outs on the left and right side of the lens, the mattebox adapter ring isn’t deep enough to cover those gaps. So, you have to tape the openings each time you use this lens. Or, is there a better solution? A deeper adapter ring? It needs to remain at 95mm so that it’s easy to swap lenses.

A: As an alternative, you can use a 15mm LWS rod system so you can mount the mattebox using ARLMB4515LWS and ARLMB45TFA. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1341037-REG/arri_k2_0013427_lmb_4x5_15mm_lws.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1341036-REG/arri_k2_0014206_lmb_4x5_tilt_and.html

Q: 7. Is there a case for the PL lenses?

A: The Sigma PMC-002 Hard Case for 5x FF High Speed Prime Cine Lenses can accommodate the PL version of the Sigma High Speed Prime Cine Lenses.

Q: 8. are these PL mount?

A: These are available in Canon EF, Sony E and PL mount. Order them, we will contact you to ask which lens mount you wish.

Q: 9. Is there a Cooke/I dataport as well like on Zeiss XD or Cooke lenses? Or is the /I data just transferred via the mount

A: this lens supports standard cooke i Technology through the lens mount, there is no extended data or expanded I support

Q: 10. Could you mount this on a 5DIV for taking still images?

A: We're afraid not. This lens only covers up to a Super 35mm sensor, it will not cover the Full Frame of the 5D Mark IV.

Works quite well for Canon lenses mounted on Sony E-mount cameras for wide angle up to about 100mm focal lengths. The AF starts struggling towards 200mm. The AF speed is not lightning fast on a Sony A7R II, but then the AF speed of the A7R II is not lightning fast even on Sony lenses. Sigma needs to provide a way to upgrade the firmware for this adapter that does not require the Sigma USB dock.

I bought this adapter because I already shoot with Canon mount glass with a Metabones adapter on a a7Rii, but all of my primes are Sigma Art series lenses, so the full functionality of the autofocus features was worth the buy. I have never shot with native Sony glass on the camera, so I don't have that baseline use experience to compare it to. I'll just say that it works as advertised and I have had no problems with it. Additionally, I have had nothing but problems using my Canon 16-35 2.8 L II with the Metabones adapter. It would get one or two shots before the camera would freeze and I would just unlock and clock the mount until I heard the shutter release and move on. I don't know if it is a common problem, but conversations with Metabones customer service had yielded no solutions. I tried it with the Sigma adapter and have had no issues. It acts just like the Metabones with all of my Canon L glass. It seems like the Sigma adapter is a comparable and cheaper solution to the Metabones adapter.

I had been considering switching from Canon to the Sony A6500 for several months. I was debating getting the Metabones Mark IV or the Sigma MC-11. Then B&H ran a combo special with 2 Sigma Art lenses (18-35 1.8 & 50-100 1.8) and the MC-11 and I could not resist. So far it is working very well with both lenses, and I am loving' the A6500. Thanks Sigma!

Looks to be very high quality. I have only tried with two Canon lenses (the 200mm 2.8 L II and a very old 100 to 300 f5.8) on my Sony a7r2 and both times it worked exceedingly well. Thinly caveat, on a couple of occasions (I'm not sure when or why yet) it seemed to hang up and freeze (not focus). I just quickly restarted the camera and then it worked great. I was impressed by how fast it focused and was spot on.
