The beige d:fine Core 4188 Slim Directional Flex Headset Mic with 120mm Boom and 3.5mm Connector from DPA combines the sound of the d:fine 4088 directional capsule and Core amplifier in a lightweight and flexible two-ear headset that offers accurate, highly intelligible speech and plenty of headroom for loud vocals. The microphone's electret-condenser capsule provides a crisp, natural sound while its cardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture on the wearer, picking up less background sound and helping to control feedback issues on loud stages where sound reinforcement gear is used.

The flexible design is quickly and easily taken on and off and provides a fit so light and comfortable that presenters and performers will barely notice it during conference, speech, and active live performance applications. The headset is ergonomically engineered to easily adjust and fit any ear size and head shape, while, at the same time, it mounts securely and is hardly visible. By rotating the boom and the ear hook, the microphone can be used on either the left or the right ear. In addition, the connector splits the cable from the microphone boom allowing you to swap out broken cables and/or microphone booms easily. The 4188 includes a makeup cover, foam windscreen, and a pop screen.

Q: 1. Is the included wind shield the same as the Rde WS9 (B&H # ROWS9)?

A: Scott, stay away from B&H photo

Q: 2. Several people have asked the question about using on a dslr. I would love to use this on a dslr because it has a headphone monitor and line out. My dslr doesn't have a headphone out. This device would almost solve the audio monitoring issue that most cheap dslr's have( no headphone jack out). I know that it wouldn't be the gain controlled audio from the camera but just the raw audio coming from the mic but it is better than nothing. So, It seems like this mic would work just fine for dslr, but I wanted to be 100% sure if the jack on the mic that is TRRS(the kind with the extra ring in the connector, not just a regular TRS jack) would work with a dslr camera? Does the mic need the extra ring for power?

A: Hi, you won't be able to plug this mic (with TRRS connection) into a DSLR (with TRS input). You could use the SC3 adaptor, but you will have nowhere to mount the mic to the camera. It really has only been designed for smartphones, not DSLR cameras.

Q: 3. Will the Shure WH20 Headset Mic with XLR Connector for Balanced Mic Output B&H # SHWH20XLR MFR # WH20XLR work with a Fender Passport 150 Pro?

A: It will work. You can plug it directly to one of the mic inputs. I would recommend buying a longer cable or even a wireless system to use it with so you have the freedom to walk around and move with it.

Q: 4. Does the Rycote Lyre Shock-Mount of the Rode VideoMicro also work with the Rode Videomic Me?

A: No it does not, and is not sold separately anyway.

Q: 5. Is there a wireless system that works with this mic that I could buy AFTER buying this mic? I don't have the budget for a wireless system and I want to start with this then buy the receiver and transmitter later.

A: B&H stocks an adapter cable, Shure part # WA310 that is a plug and play solution for connecting the WH20 XLR to a Shure wireless body pack transmitter. If you wish to build your own, the connector for Shure body packs is a switchcraft TA4F. Wiring diagrams are available on Shure's website.

Q: 6. how do you attach to an iphone 7 plus?

A: Forget about this. Its impossible. This mic is vailable only for iPhone with mini jack

Q: 7. How would this perform as a headset mic for football/basketball playcallers? Is the isolation pretty good?

A: This product works well for this application, providing decent off-axis rejection of unwanted ambient sound. Keeping your gain settings a little lower on the bodypack will also help reduce ambient bleed. In particularly loud environments and in sports applications, it may also be helpful to mute or turn off your bodypack between announcements or calls to avoid unwanted speech or noise transmissions between uses.

Q: 8. Can this device be use for infinix note 2 ?

A: I don't see why it wouldn't work with this model. If the Infinix note 2 has a TRRS connecter, this mic should plug in just like it does with an iPhone.

Q: 9. Can I wear headphones with this mic if I need to,?

A: Yes, you can wear headphones while using the WH-20 headset mic. It's a matter of which style headphones are most comfortable for you while wearing the mic. In-ear style headphones will most likely be the easiest to use.

Q: 10. can you use this with a Tascam DR-40?

A: The Shure WH-20 Headset Mic is directly compatible with the XLR mic inputs on the Tascam DR-40.
