The Vocal Planet five CD-ROM, Akai format sample library set presents a universe of exotic vocal sounds designed specifically for the creative producer and composer. The series features both multi-samples and phrases, and includes over 12,000 samples of authentic male and female singers, presented in different keys and recorded dry for maximum flexibility. The library is organized around five categories that include gospel, jazz/blues, world, R&B/dance and vocal FX. Each category includes a comprehensive selection of the various component vocal styles.

A key feature included with the Vocal Planet CD-ROM is a Mac/Windows Data CD containing the Soundfinder system. This software allows for quickly finding the right phrase amongst the more than eight hours of audio material presented, while an extensive Groove Control section allows for independently changing the tempo, feel and key of more than 175 human percussion loops, right from a sequencer. A bonus Rebirth mod is also included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are the keys velocity sensitive?

A: Yes, the are semi-weighted, velocity sensitive.

Q: 2. Does this have a mute and on/off button ?

A: No, the Shure SM48-LC Vocal Microphone does not have an on/off switch. The Shure SM48S-LC Vocal Microphone with On/Off Switch (B&H # SHSM48SLC) is the version that does include an on/off switch.

Q: 3. Would you be able to recommend how to set up the Behringer ULTRAGAIN PRO MIC2200 2-Channel Tube Microphone Preamplifier/Line Driver/DI Box with a Shure SM7B Cardioid Dynamic Broadcast Microphone to a computer? I have the mic and preamp but need a new computer to interface with. Any suggestions for this combo? Thanks!!!

A: For best results, this preamp should be connected to a computer using a USB audio interface. The Focusrite 2i2 is a solid choice that is compatible with both Mac and PC. The unit features front panel line inputs that can accept the outputs of both of the Behringer preamp outputs and will be compatible with virtually any recording software.

Q: 4. can I run the ta-1vp vocal processor in conjunction with my live 3 vocal processor. I don't want to lost the harmony capabilities. is your unit at 218.00 used, everyone else is at 399.00?thank you, Greg

A: The Tascam TA-1VP is a new factory sealed unit. Used items are only available from our Used Department, and will be clearly labeled as such. This unit can be used in conjunction with another vocal processor, but might be best inserted into the chain before any harmony processor as best results are achieved on a single voice and not on polyphonic sources.

Q: 5. does this require phantom power?

A: No, the Shure SV100-WA Handheld Cardioid Dynamic Microphone with Accessories does not require phantom power for operation.

Q: 6. Does it include same software/editor like Garritan which comed with the controller only version?

A: The EWI5000 editor is available for free download on the Akai website. a href= http://www.akaipro.com/product/ewi-5000#downloads target= _blank http://www.akaipro.com/product/ewi-5000#downloads/a

Q: 7. MADE IN GEMANY ?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser E845S is made in Germany.

Q: 8. does it come with a mic cord?

A: Yes it does. A 15 ft XLR to 1/4 cable is included.

Q: 9. Is the barrel of this microphone steel or plastic?

A: It's metal

Q: 10. If I use this mic with the Zoom H5n as a preamp, do I need to buy a cloudlifter?

A: A Cloudlifter would be advised, because the output of the Shure SM7B is notoriously low. The mic pre amp 's on the Zoom H5n do not have enough gain, and you will have to tun up almost to the highest level, which would introduce noise in the signal. The loudlifter will add +25dB of clean gain, and make your recordings sound professional.

I'm gonna put it to you straight: I love this thing.Great things about it? Multiple fingering modes, two banks, rechargeable, wireless with ridiculously low latency (even when battery gets low) and a sound editor software that delivers. Having higher quality sounds compared to EWI4000s is great and being able to layer or octave those sounds without being hooked up to a computer is great for random creativity. For starters, it has a good sound that is actually adaptive to your style of play. I went through the whole of the sound bank and was pleased as I believe it's a true update. There will be uninformed haters out there that will say the sounds are not realistic or sound kazoo-like after listing to samples through a YouTube video, but what they're failing to realize is that it is an EWI, not a reed instrument; and, YouTube sound quality considering the source material and player isn't always that great. The EWI accomplishes everything it set out to and does not misrepresent what it can do in its instruction manual or marketing. I find that if I do a forceful brass hit or a strong blow using the saxophone sounds that there is a distinct difference in how the sound is presented and how it is carried. I find this ability built into the vast majority of sounds I use. These are the great things about the instrument.Areas in need of improvement? Let's see.. some thought that having a wireless MIDI ability would be useful, but honestly, I don't find this that important. Use a cord or acquire a wireless setup that you trust and believe in. Being able to load your own sounds? Get an iPad or a computer, VST library and software and use a cord. Again, I don't find this to be a hang-up. I owned the EWI4000s and did just fine with cords. I did fine then and I'll do fine now.All in all a great buy. Highly recommended. Highly responsive. Highly customizable. And a highly prized member of my instrument collection.

I must admit, the first time I unboxed the instrument, I was amazed at the build quality. It has some heft, the keys are properly and ergonomically placed and you know Akai really took their time to perfect this wind controller. But as a long time saxophone player, the first time I actually played some scales, I was quite disappointed - it didn't feel like a saxophone. I was beginning to regret my purchase and thought about exchanging it for the WX5. So I gave it a few more days. Days turned to weeks, and I am beginning to appreciate this instrument. Keep practicing those scales, breathing with the mouthpiece and you realize how this is such an amazing wind controller. I made a mistake thinking that this is a replacement for a saxophone in an apartment situation. In reality, you should think about how this instrument can be an extension to your musical endeavors. The possibilities you can do with the sounds and playability are endless. There are a few usable synths prebuilt, but I suggest using the Akai EWI 5000 Editor to really play and edit your sounds then save it to the user bank. Also there are synths out there that can be used if you plug the EWI as just a midi wind controller; unfortunately you can't upload other synth sounds into the controller. Definitely give it some time to get used to the instrument especially moving from one octave to another. Keep practicing and you'll appreciate that there's hardly any moving parts here. I was opposed at it first since horns have that tactile and key feedback. But with the touch sensitivity, it really felt I was playing an instrument from the future. Again, you just have to get used to it - think about when mobile phones shift from physical keyboards to the modern phones we have today. And here I am today still keeping my purchase and writing a review. I thank Akai for making a top-notch wind controller and continuing the support for the modern electronic wind musician.

I work part time at a nonprofit working with handicapped individuals. I started a music program about 5 years ago and since then I have been trying different ways of reaching them with music. This product is perfect on so many levels. First when an individual has limited hand ability, this offers the perfect solution to trigger sounds. I also like the pads lighting up to give positive reinforcement to keep playing. The software that came with it is off the chain, however it was very hard to learn, still trying to learn it, but it's very powerful. I'm talking about MPC Beats, not Ableton. I look forward to seeing them use this all the time in our music classes.

I was skeptical but this thing is very easy to use and sounds great. You can adjust the harmony level so it adds just enough without sounding hokey. Getting used to engaging it at the right times during the song -- but the large stomp button helps a ton. Also, the enhance feature in this pedal is phenomenal for any vocalist.

Still the best if you want MPC style feel and functions. All the others are imitators.
