The black DPA 4061 CORE Low-Sensitivity Omni Lavalier Microphone with Instrument Accessories Kit is a discreet, flexible microphone solution aimed at project studios and production companies seeking a flexible microphone system for in-studio and on-stage events. At the heart of the kit is a miniature, moisture-resistant mic for use with wired or wireless systems for broadcast, performance, and theatrical applications. This configuration includes a comprehensive set of accessories, including mounting options for instrument recording along with windscreens, an XLR adapter, and protective cases.

The electret-condenser capsule delivers crisp, clear, and intelligible speech, while the rugged yet unobtrusive design is well suited to the demands of professional live stage work and presentations. This version of the 4061 uses DPA's CORE technology to deliver a 4 dB increase in dynamic range and a 14 dB reduction in noise over the 4061 Legacy model.

An interchangeable High-Boost Grid is included that protects the capsule and alters the sonic character of the microphone, creating a peak at 12 kHz, helpful for chest placement. With an SPL rating of 144 dB, the mic is more than capable of handling a wide variety of instruments as well as loud speakers, vocalists, and presenters—making it a discreet and flexible tool for houses of worship and live event productions.

The 4061 CORE is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless transmitter and features a modular design using a Microdot output connector. The mic is compatible with various wireless microphone transmitters via a separately available adapter for the compatible transmitter. This instrument kit includes an XLR adapter for use with a wide variety of professional equipment. The adapter allows the mic to be powered via 12 to 48V phantom power. Also included are two clips to mount the mic to stringed instruments, a magnetic mount, a surface mount with pieces of adhesive tape, a dual-mic lapel clip, an inner plastic case, and a zippered traveling case.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the Dji wireless mic system with the microdot to trs adapter?

A: We have not tested the DJI Mic wireless transmitters with the Deity Microphones W.Lav Pro Omni Lavalier Microphone but it should work if used with a Microdot to 3.5mm TRS male cable.

Q: 2. How does this mic differ from the one that is included in the RodeLink Filmmaker kit? Is it better?

A: According to Rode, the only difference between the lavalier mic that is included in the RodeLink Filmmaker Kit and the separate RodeLink Lavalier mic is the locking collar. On the RodeLink Lavalier, the locking collar is removable so the mic can be used with devices that have either a locking or non-locking 3.5mm audio input. The locking collar on the mic included in the kit is not removable so the mic can only be used with devices that use a locking input. The mic capsule is identical on both mics.

Q: 3. does it work with the rode wireless go?

A: Yes, this microphone works with the Wireless Go system.

Q: 4. Does this work with tenticals?

A: Yes, the RODELink Lav Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone is compatible for use with the Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Audio Recorder.

Q: 5. Does this work if it's plugged directly into the Atomos Ninja V?

A: No, the RODELink Lav uses a locking 3.5mm connector which attaches to a threaded 3.5mm input jack and the Atomos Ninja V has a standard (non-locking) 3.5mm mic input. Rode's Lavalier GO (B&H# ROLAVGO) is a similar mic with a non-locking 3.5mm connector that is compatible for use with the Ninja V. For additional options you may want to consider the Microphone Madness MM-ML (B&H# MIM) or MM-LAPEL-1 (B&H # MILAPEL1), Polsen PL-4 (B&H # POPL4) or PL-5 (B&H# POPL5) which are all omnidirectional lavalier mics that can be used with the Ninja V. .

Q: 6. Are there tie clip alternatives that secure to the actual lavalier instead of the cable for the lavalier?

A: We do carry some universal lavalier tie clips which should work with this microphone, such as BH #AUAT8417.

Q: 7. Can this be used with other lavs? Any limitation on the size of the capsule?

A: I'm using it with a different LAV, the one I have does not fit snug in the clip but I just put a small piece of gaff tape to keep it in position.

Q: 8. Why does Deity's own website state Max SPL is 110dB yet the BH site states SPL is 130dB? Is this a mistake?

A: According to Deity, some microdot connectors allow for higher SPL ratings for the Deity Microphones W.Lav Pro Omni Lavalier Microphone (Black).

Q: 9. Would this work on a Zoom F2?

A: Yes, the Deity W.Lav Pro Lavalier Microphone can be connected to a Zoom F2 Field Recorder using a Microdot to locking 3.5mm TRS adapter wired for compatibility with Sennheiser wireless transmitters (not Sony, as the internal wiring is different) such as the Deity Microphones DA35 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter - Black (B&H # DEDA3S) or the DPA Microphones DAD6034 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Sennheiser Adapter (B&H # DPDAD6034).

Q: 10. Can I use this with microdot adapter that supplies 5-8v? Is that too high for this mic, given stated 2.5-3.3VDC requirement?

A: Yes, the Deity Microphones W.Lav Pro Omni Lavalier Microphone can be used with a Microdot adapter, however, the voltage is supplied by the device that the mic is connected to, not by the adapter itself, unless the adapter has a power supply. For example, the W.Lav Pro can be used with the Deity Microphones DA35 Microdot to Locking 3.5mm Adapter (B&H # DEDA35) for connection to a wireless transmitter like the Sennheiser SK 100 G4 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter, which will supply 3V DC to the mic through the input. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat if you would like assistance to select the appropriate adapter for your application.

Performs perfectly for one-on-one standup interviews as well as long distance podium shots in echo-filled auditorium. Levels are set nicely out of the box with little fine tuning needed on set. Be sure to get the correct cable to connect to your brand of smartphone.

I bough this kit to replace some other (unfortunately I don't remember it's brand name but it was a complete garbage) wireless setup that I got through a local store and I am very happy with RODE, the quality of the recorded sound (speech) is quite professional. Recommended.
